I love this. Oh if I only knew where Harold Williams is at. Oh well time goes on but the tear drops still fall. After all these years.....................
Jim Reeves is the first singer I can remember. My father loved him and played his records daily. Im 51 now and these songs take me back to being just a little kid Thank you
No one can dispute the fact that the unique Reeves voice has no equal, till this day. This song is one of those pieces that is a reminder of this fact.
so now that i've become an adult i'm no longer afraid and a research and listen and i realized that all these song sound familiar, because i've either heard them on my father's records as a child or in hursts.I remember me and my father coming from church one day and we got a lift in a hurst, (as i mentioned before my fear of hursts as a child) i was wet with fear and i remember hearing this voice (reeves) singing as it's unique and skeeter davis,i vaguely remember hearing their songs that day.
my father had all these songs on record, (he was up in age,was born in the 1920s,i'm not that old though as i'm his last child )and i used to hear them as a child growing up.I've heard the name reeves as he used complained that the present artists are nowhere in his league. Then as as got a little bigger these are the types of songs that was heard in hursts( when it's funeral time, and i was afraid of hursts,so these songs sort of freaked me out,,especially his voice and i tend not to listen
His velvet voice brings back memories of my childhood. My parents, uncles and aunts they all had all of his albums and we kids grew up listening to his beautiful voice. I still love to listen to his singing and when I do I feel so relaxed and stress free. Mostly because it takes me back to my happy childhood days. Thank you for great video.
i sing this song everyday to the love of my life........she cant hear me but she has to know that i cant stop. she moved on and took my heart with her. never came close to a broken heart and now at 57 my heart will never heal.
I know that Sony & VEVO can be all right. Thaks anyway for nice photos & download. The inlays with Jim in the countryside is about that Genleman's soul is now built in the landscape. Saw, heared him in Stockholm in the 60th-70th - just before he died.
I cannot understand how you have managed to make the sound so fantasic. But when talking about Jim Reeves it's a matter of music culture, so thanks. I added it of course as a favourite (hope Sony can let it stay).
@petereuropa Thanks for your comments; I take no credit for the great sounds - thats all down to the overdub engineers ar RCA VICTOR, (who worked all their magic on it), and the fabulous voice of Jim Reeves!. As far as SONY are concerned, they seem quite happy for fans to use Reeves music, its other companies who have made myself, (and others), remove any of their tracks.
Jim recorded this song at his last RCA Studio B session on July 2, 1964. Some accounts say it was the last song he recorded at the session, others say the last song he recorded was "Maureen". In any case, it is a spectacularly beautiful recording.
Thanks Ian for posting this song. Jim Reeves thought this was the best love song ever written so he said anyway in Konserthuset Stockholm on April 14th 1964. Happy Christmas your friend Ingemar
so great to hear music that emphasizes the voice as opposed to instrumental noise.

Jim Reeves had the most pure voice however, I think Ray Charles might have him on singing this song the best. Reeves is still a favorite of might .
