That red color over the graphics looks awesome! Overall a nice 8string, but I was wondering, have you ever used an 8string with the low F# instead of the high A? The high A is a cool idea! Never thought about tuning an 8string like that, though I prefer the low F# as personal preference! ^^

This is an 8 string done right. People usually fan out from standard to something like 28 for stupidly low tuning but the high A is much more up my alley.

Multi-scale fretboard or fanned frets = Shorter scale on the treble side fanning out to a normal scale (25.5) on the bass side which means that there is less tension on the treble side allowing you to tune standard gauge strings to higher pitches (23.5). like high A. It has nothing to do with being easier to play or intonation what so ever it's so you can tune a string to A without breaking it.

Dean is just a sick guitar maker. I have been a huge fan of theirs since the 80's and have owned Hardtails and ML's as well as thge Soltero, both Korean AND USA models and they are a cut above just about everyone else as far a quality is concerned. I have checked out the RC-7 and it is ALL they say it is and more so this has just got to be the one. Best to ya!

Playing with a high A string is great I have been playing 8 string since 2002. I used it on three songs on Outworld's cd. It's much harder to get use to than an 8 string with a low f#.

The guitar is 25.5 on the low side and 23.5 on the high side it's strung high A to Low B. So the scale is perfect for this guitar I would not want the low side any longer.

Notice the bridge and nut are fanned. I just got Rusty's email on this today so I am trying to confirm but I recall him mentioning before that it was 26.5 at the low B and 24.5 at the high A.
