Using a similar chord progression is not ripping a song off. Artists build upon and are inspired by other artist's works. Its how shit is. Thousands of songs use the I - IV - V - I chord progression. Are they all ripping off the first song to use it? Hell no. Same with this. Also, I doubt Oasis was the first to use this chord progression, so they're probably "ripping off" some other artist.
