Not sure why you are freaking out about weather or not Rue is black or white - regardless it is a child that resembles Katniss' little sister. As far as I can recall Rue just reminded Katniss of Prim, and in the book it says her and Thresh have dark skin - as if it mattered.

No. It doesn't come right out and say that she's black. It implies that she is by saying that she has dark skin. However, you can have dark skin and not be black. I've been told that I have dark skin, but I'm not black. My cousin has dark skin, and she isn't black. Think outside the box people.

@tinksnider they were both participants in the Hunger Games. The age range was 12 to 18 to be entered. the boy was about 18 and she was 12, which is why he was able to kill her so easily. The writer wanted to show how society could be like. In some third-world countries it kind of is like that. She's not crazy, she's just showing the real world the sadistic cruel entertainment we could be heading towards.

i was really sad when rue died, but then again it had to happen, and it did make the games end up how they did. it also made katniss stronger.

i didnt care at all when rue died in the books. i was actually happy she was dead because it seemed katniss was being slowed down because of her and had to watch over herself along with a little girl. i have never cried because of something that isnt real. i didnt think i ever would. i dont care about things in books and movies and pretend they're real. i never understood why people cried when its not even real. but i get it now. i have NEVER before and dont know why i did, but i cried.

@tinksnider they were both participants in the Hunger Games. The age range was 12 to 18 to be entered. the boy was about 18 and she was 12, which is why he was able to kill her so easily. The writer wanted to show how society could be like. In some third-world countries it kind of is like that. She's not crazy, she's just showing the real world the sadistic cruel entertainment we could be heading towards.
