@geochaosakanick personally i never have used the good woods. but im my aspect, i love the ions more, you can move them around and they arent crammed in close together like the rock band pads. The ions do take ALOT more room to store when your not using them which is a downfall but the pads are great.
mine kept breaking so fast...i had spent over 300 on rock band 1 / 2 drums kits....so i spent another 300 on the ions and it was worth every penny, i dont have to keep rebuying pads and they dont break :)...im gentil with them (most of the time)

I'm been working on fcing this too, but having a crappy Rock Band 2 stock kit doesn't exactly help.
