I actually saw Third Eye Blind perform last year at my school with their new singer... This version is ten times better than the way the new singer did it.

I think everyone needs to stop trolling on everything. Yes third eyed blind was good in the 90's. And im not taking anything away from that but its what you get out of the song. Not statistics thatll fade and mean nothing. This song has great meaning a beautiful lyrics and this band used that by a slower beat and a cleaner sound. Both versions are wonderful in their own way..

The original has a faster tempo, and whinier voice, giving it more of a feel like the vocalist is scared for who is about to "Jump"

This version, however, is a tad slower, and more pretty sounding.. The singer sounds like he is sympathetic for the "Jumper" and wants to help..

In my opinion, both are great, together they show the perfect example of how lyrics can be the same, but from two different perspectives.

The original will always be better than this, ALWAYS. Just because he added some vocal flair to the song doesn't make it better. In fact, I would say less is more for this song. In my opinion, this is one of the best covers out there. I think this song took a good song and CRUSHED it... stomped on it and told it who was boss... The vocals are over produced/ overdone, and while he may be a better technical singer (arguably) the cadence and feeling of the original is lost along with a lot of the emotion. I think this version brings out a whole new light to the song. While Stephen's was bright, and lyrically profound, Bedlight's version brings an entirely new emotion to the song by slowing it down, and driving the song on Danny's voice, and as little percussion and guitar as possible. It's a cover because they don't remake the song exactly as it was originally done, bringing a style to it that transforms the song from an original to something new. It made me cry the first time I heard it.
