One cannot deny the greatness Marx and Engles contributed to the cause of understanding capitalism to be able to destroy it. But when we think of them as prophets, Gods, and become Orthodox Marxist in the Marxist Church....we're on the wrong path....

Davis makes a real good point about recovering the historical memory of labor struggle and Karl Marx's 19th century critiques of capitalism. For a more nuanced view of marxism read, "Twilight of Capitalism," and "Socialism: Past and Future," by Michael Harrington. Also her point about the hypocrisy of allowing capital to freely cross borders while punishing human beings who need to cross borders is spot on
