my favorite song of FZ XD i've been listening this since 2001, used to play it when I was at work wishing Billy came along and destroy the place where I worked :p
goddamn...this is when progressive rock was really at it's peak...I could name all the acts but it'd be boring (and it would take up all of my "character allotment")
gone are the days when a 40 minute piece that had a message could be performed in front of an audience of this size : (
I mean there's really only one act that has this kind of an audience anymore, that's dream theater and they aren't even a true progressive rock act
Two answer one of the questions: The JABFLA performance was an edited version of this performance. Obviously, this is an audience tape (since you can hear people talking) and the version you hear on the album is from the tapes recorded in the recording truck.
This is the same recording date and location as noted on the "Just Another Band" cover but sounds different, as well as being much longer - was this performance edited and remixed for the record?
I was 21 as well, in the Army in Frankfurt Germany, and recall hearing this for the 1st time there while I was playing in a band there at night. I caught the band a few months later when JL Ponty was with him. An epic tune, simply brilliant! Thanks so much for posting! :)
