  • @zombieghost74

    What shark?

  • Cool video, thanks!

  • i would love these fucking fisherman to get bite the shit out of them

  • @sakic19viron why hating so much?:L

  • @simonpopzz i wrote that too quick on blacktip's video cause he releases them ,

but theres a ton of video i saw of fisherman catching sharks killing them and bringin them back as trophy,

even blacktips shouldnt do that. sharks are animals not toys he can tromatise them if he does that

  • @sakic19viron okay now its well said, !

  • I love land based shark fishing. We need more people to learn about it because it seems like everywhere I go, It is now illegal.

  • @yournamehere832

    Where is it illegal?

  • @BlacktipH There is alot of places along the east coast and a few places on the gulf coast where there are posted signs on beaches and piers that say "no shark fishing." A few examples are virginia beach, avalon pier in north carolina, and dauphin island alabama. My guess is that they don't want to scare away the tourist, but I'm always hearing about more and more places outlawing the sport.

  • @yournamehere832

Just because a town or city post a sign that says "No Shark Fishing", doesn't mean anything. Only the state fisheries can regulate fishing. You can't discriminate one kind of fishing over another. Land based shark fishing is legal in Florida, go to my website blacktiphfishing (search on Google) and go to the FAQ page and read the question, "Is it legal to fish for sharks?" Check the fishery regulations in the state statutes for Virginia and North Carolina.

  • @yournamehere832

If a pier is privately owned, they can make their own laws. Most piers are either privately owned or they are owned by the county, so they fall under the jurisdictions of their locations and/or ownership. The "high water mark" (high tide wet sand) is the property of the state of Florida. The first 2 miles of water from shore is also state property. The county doesn't own anything below the high tide mark.

  • @BlacktipH Oh and thanks for the info. I didn't read all of it when I posted my last comment. Keep up the good work. Maby I'll see you on the beach some day.

  • @yournamehere832

Don't fish where lifeguards are stationed (dedicated swimming buoys must be in the water for the area to be considered a "swimming area"). You don't want to fish where buoys are anyways, a big fish will wrap around them and break you off. Fish away from where people are swimming. If you are fishing in a dedicated swimming area, they might be able to charge you for be a danger to public health.

  • @BlacktipH

Oh yea I know. It's just annoying seeing a sign saying it is illegal if a certain species bites my hook on a fishing pier or an open beach. Luckily back home in Texas its pretty rare that those laws exist.

  • These guys are just doing it for their own fun..

  • This guys are just doing it for their own fun..

  • This is the first time I have ever heard of surf fishing. It looks like something I've got to get into! Any first timer pointers on equipment I should use, I see in some comments E- glass rod's, that's as far as I've gotten. Thanks! You have inspired a new angler.

  • @bjboren

What kind of fish do you want to target from the surf?

  • @BlacktipH Honestly I'm unsure I'm guessing black tips sounds like a good place to start.

  • @bjboren

They are a good place to start.

  • ok,its e-glass then..thanks,josh...recently i've watched my friend videos he post me thhrough e-mail,he get sand shark...pretty though but ain't biting..sand shark bout 78.3999 kgs...on a sudden, the boatman buying from him,the boatman took it home wanna cook shark fin soup, the rest of the meat?i ain't nothing know bout it..daanngg!

  • which one is better?solid fiber or e-glass?which one is lighter and stronger?thanks, dude

  • @greatwhitesharkist

    E-glass all the way!

  • Fail to landed the shark,josh..200 lbs class fiber rod, lure weight 400gm..i should 've use strong graphite JM rod PE 8

  • @greatwhitesharkist

Graphite rods are not the best for big fish. Find a good e-glass rod.

  • hey josh..i've just broke my Shimano trolling rod...been almost an hour struggling fight that MF shark, fail to fight with leopard shark..fuck!

  • @greatwhitesharkist

How big was the shark? What pound class was the rod?

  • what bait you use ? i think it was spanish mackerel am i right ?

  • @zaimjuwani

    For which shark?

  • @BlacktipH All the shark you fish.

  • WOOHOO great shark fishing of the beach!

  • Nice to video, I'm glad to see people catch and release fishing. Just curious though, do you have to worry about the shark swim bladder, even when fishing from shore like that? Sorry if I sound like a DA, im not a saltwater fisherman.

  • @Halocuber

I dont know what a DA is, but I don't worry about it. I release them quickly and they swim away.

  • Great channel

  • any tips on pier

  • @LAREDOSK8

All the fishing in the Blacktip Challenge is done from shore.

  • Outfrigginstanding! The Best of the Best teaming up to do Great Things! It doesn't get any better! A big toast to my Sharkin Bros!!! ^5!!!

  • Looks interesting. When does it air and on what channel will it be on.

  • @IggyKoopa12 Don't exactly know yet, I will keep you posted.

  • alabama

  • @southernboy55555 I would suggest starting with a surf set-up. Buy a Penn 950ssm and spool it with 65lb Power Pro and buy a 12ft rod, Try a Lamiglas.

  • @BlacktipH what would be a good setup for somebody fishing on the gulf coast of florida (boca grande baby!)

  • @tritreeslay

What size shark are you planning to target?

  • dude, to be honest... it really dont matter, im up to the fights of em lol. ummm... im wantin to start fishin this summer but im sorta worried now thanks to the oil spill thing... im only 15 but im workin on gettin the rods and stuff. any suggestions? thanks man. btw lol im a big man of the fishin vids lol

  • @southernboy55555 What state are you fishing in?

  • Great Vid!

  • awsome

  • Great Video Josh! The Challenge has certainly come a long way since the early days! Well Done and Congrats cause you deserve it. Fish On Mate!

  • im from alabama, we fish on the gulf (gulf shores) but i wanna find a better spot to fish and im looking for a good setup to catch sharks off of.

  • @southernboy55555 Try fishing the Panhandle of Florida. What size sharks do you want to fish for?

  • well done!

  • hey, just a question... im the guy that fishes from gulf shores. ive been messing around with rod and reels lately and im looking for a good setup. and what if i cant get a canoe? should i use an aluminum boat? and wat brad of rods and reels, line type? hook size? sorry for all the questions but shark fishin is becoming interesting to me lol.

  • @southernboy55555 I would get an open-faced ocean kayak. An Ocean Frenzy is a great kayak. You don't want to a canoe or an aluminum boat because if you get dumped by the waves, it's hard to get back in them, especially if they are filled with water. What state are you fishing in?

  • Great production! What happens if one of your tagged sharks gets caught in Texas? Some info on that would have been cool! What should I do If by chance I catch one of these fish? Waters a bit cold, waiting a few weeks to start. I was amazed at the water clarity! We have stained water at best to fish in.

  • Thats great stuff Josh! Im really glad seeing this event to take off. Im also very happy that so much focus is put to conservation of sharks. Congratulations, and Im wishing all the best!
