Wertmuller is good, but come on, the world's best drummer? Their trio with Pliakas is pretty hot, but I think Wertmuller doesn't bring enough in terms of dynamic range. Personally, I prefer Brotzmann with Nasheet Waits, Han Bennink, Hamid Drake, Shoji Hano, Michael Zerang, Paal Nilssen-Love...
I've never heard this guy, but he does seem to have a mutated heavy metal/"swing" factor, for free jazz. My foot actually taps when I listen to Rashied Ali or Hamid Drake, which is kind of interesting. Nothing against Sonny Murray, but that school of free jazz drumming can be lazy, in its modern followers. Or rather, they're just talentless 'clones.'
With Rashied Ali I actually tap my foot like four times a second. I think Jack Dejohnette is the best drummer in the world.

This stuff is great. Michael Wertmuller is the world's best drummer, a real virtuoso. Wish i could have been there in person.
