In case anyone doesn't already know, the "she" in the song is actually a "he" in the guise of Peter Fonda who john Lennon was talking to while they were both tripping out on acid.
Yes, they could have played this song live if only they could have been bothered to try the new stuff out more. I don't think they thought anyone was listening anyway, so they stuck pretty much to the '64 '65 songs even in '66!
@WilburyVision : From Revolver: Taxman, Here there n everywhere, She said she said, Good day sunshine, And your bird can sing, I want to tell you.... ALL of those + Paperback writer could have been played live in 1966 . BUT the fact is, they didnt f*cking care anymore and stuck to playing mediocrities like Long tall sally and I wanna be your man T_T
@brainslow very true!! if you pull up their '66 tour(US and abroad) every set began with John,Paul, and George playing with their amps then John goes right into Rock and Roll Music. they played several songs off the Rubber Soul LP though. Revolver wasnt officialy released until Aug '66 around the time when they stopped touring for good.
Impressive use of footage unrelated to the song. I think they could have pulled this one off live. No backward loops and odd instruments. The percentage of males in the audience greatly increased over the early Beatlemania days. It was getting cool for a guy to admit you were a fan by that point.
At this time the Mersey Sound and The London Sound began to merge and the freedom to experiment had made it's way into pop music instead of the "formula" many artist on both sides of the "Pond" were forced or encouraged to follow which included using writers and not letting the bands or artist write their own music. Though early on the Beatles and the Stones had made the brake all ready. This transition period, starting in 1962, was fun and exciting.
Guitar work on Revolver is fantastic. "She Said She Said " was written by Lennon with some help from Harrison.:D The guitars are even heavier than the Jefferson Airplane at that time, and Hendrix hadn't become a star yet. AWESOME!!!!
Ringo was a pioneer, yeah listen to "She Said She Said" if that is not unique I do not know what is.
the lyrics are John's poetry - the attitude is pure Beatles, in the face of posers: whatever, 'bye - good that they all supported one another, in the face of London society they were a Liverpool neighborhood all to themselves - kept them authentic for a long time
She said, she said, I know what it's like to be dead. It's good to know what it's like to be dead and that is that you are not dead when you are dead, ha! It's great that John thought about those things and we should as well so we'll be ready when the Lord rings the bell.
Okay when I saw this video title, I though it would be The Beatles playing She Said She Said live. I was thinking, " The Beatles never played this live!" haha
no hay mas grande conjunto musical en el mundo que los beatles, en la actualidad nadie los ha igualado.

Why do people try to pass this stuff off as live? It's cool enough as is. John couldn't be contained.

McCartney is not on this song. Harrison plays bass. The best drumming of any Beatles song.

It looks like they are filing out of a funeral there at the end. So somber and slow and downcast. What is with that.

dreama505 7 months ago
@dreama505 Yes to his masterpiece; his peak? Hardly. There was still "Strawberry Fields" yet to come.
jsmyers24151 7 months ago
@dreama505 His peak was surely SFields/Walrus and his work on the white album'? This is fantastic anyway
