Could you comment on the new alto guitars...10,11,12,13 strings. How could they help a current six string guitar player play lute music and perhaps giving the lute a try.
Hi and thank you very much for your excellent videos and for presenting them in English. I have recently started learning the lute and my biggest difficulty at the moment is hitting the wrong bass strings with my thumb!!!!
Here you have two more questions for your next video (BTW, thanks for this series :)
1.- Is there any problem in simply unstringing the excess strings? For examble, if I have a 8-course lute and want to play a piece for 6-course, can I just retire two of them?
2.- Is there anyone who prefers to play the lute with single strings instead of double strings? Blasphemy, I know, but I have king-sized fingertips!!! :(
Also, can you reverse the process of playing lute music on the guitar, and play guitar music on the lute?
