don't let the shiny back fool you, it does look cool when new but in time the paint job starts peeling off. in 3 or 4 months of use is going to look horrible, i really hate that. the form factor is really cool for the 60 gb version, just the paint job is horrible. I have to say that i have sweaty hands, that may be the reason for the peeling paint, i don' know

can you IM on the archos? like on myspace and stuff...if so how? becaue i cant figure it out...on my ipod touch i can IM but i want to IM on my archos also...also where can i download widgets and other stuff for my archos?

do the archos' break a lot?, and do they come with any guarentees ?

they have a problem with the headphone plug and the paint job. The headphone plug on my first archos 5 was faulty so i want back to bestbuy tu exchange it, and they did that with no problem it has 1 year warranty

i just take it back to bestbuy, i told them about the problem and they gave me a new one

you're right, archos 7 is way to big and is a heavy beast. When i got the archos 5 i was looking at the 7 too but it was simply to big and heavy for me

i have no scratches on the screen so far. The back of the player is actually more scratch resistent than ipod touch but if you have sweaty hands (like me), i would buy a case.For some reason my last archos 5 (the one that broke down on me), got rusted around the power buton and on the botom right

The touch (im hopeing your talking about the ipod touch) has games!

the archos is like a dvd player with out changing discs!

Try to get both, if you can afford it!

I actually had both.... The archos for christmas, but then it broke so i got my itouch

I really liked the archos 5... it had a lot of cool features, you just need to be sure you save enough money for the plug ins and the dvr station etc

but i loove my itouch... once it breaks i'll have to upgrade back to the archos

for watching movies i would deffenetly recommend the archos over ipod touch, video quallity is way superior (i have both ta itouch and archos 5)

lol i put it in my coat pocket or in my car 320gb plays like any song in my head cuase igot full discogs of many different artists i got 300gb of msuic but i got all types of people ranging from spanish songs to french to english my english  varies from p.o.d to michael jackson to jlo to mariah to pretty much any good song
