So there I was singing this song to myself, which made me think that it was time to get my guitar out after more than 20 years and in a couple of moves I find you playing and teaching exactly the kind of guitar style which I have always wanted to play but have never applied myself to...up till now.
I am a French musician, and I used the bad agreements for this song. Thanks to you, I play it finally with perfection, thank you, for the bottom of the heart!
After the intro, the C7 is giving me a lot of trouble. Help anyone? i cant seem to get my fingers positioned right. im using my pinkie on the lowest string going up using each finger. but when i play it, it doesnt sound the same as yours!
Love the video, but I dom't know a lot of these cords. I'm learning guitar right now and I dont have a clue about what your talking about. Can you send me the tabs or make another video of the tabs? Thanks
Amazing isnt it, my dad foced me to know the notes of the bass,he wrote them on the back of my bass when i was 15/16 I know them all now, guitar notes and all,and yet im still amazed that some of my friends that have been playing longer cant give me a c# note when I ask them ??? and even a c major scale??? and or a minor scale?? or dont kno how to turn the 3rd to minor to major? to me its basic guitar skills, instad of standing in the mirror pretending,i knuckled down and leart the basics
what kind of genre of music is this song? my grandfather leaned me a few jams on guitar which consists of chords like F, C7, D7, Gm, F and sometimes up to an F7 and a Bb, which is something around this song as well.
When I first Started playing guitar I used to listen to the Ink Spots all the time and tried to learn the intros but could never get them right. I had no idea he played a 4string guitar. Tenors are tuned CGDA. Great lesson!
I just wanted to add, if it was a plectrum guitar it would have been tuned CGBD. Plectrums sound mellower than the Tenor tuning because of the longer scale.
Thanks for that info. I guess they're tuned like banjos then. I really love those 4 strings. Eddie Condon played one also. Most of the time we're only playing 4 voices (if that many!) anyways in swing comping. If I had more time or energy that wasn't already spread too far I'd learn one of those 4 string instruments--especially if you can have a low C!
Awesome instruction video. Thanks for taking the time to do this, helped me out with a couple of the chords I was struggling with. Love the background too! As always great playing and great voice.
