My mom used to make this stuff sometimes, but here in Minnesota, you can't get as fresh sea food as you can in other places, without spending a lot of money, so I remember ceviche more for the saucy tomato sauce than for the shrimp. I really want to try the real thing now!

Your video info states that the citrus juice doesn't really cook anything and that its still raw......I disagree, the lime juice from Peru and Mexico and many other S.American place are so strong, it actually cooks the fish. American lime or lemons are sweet compared to these limes.

@Charlydx21 It doesn't "cook" the meat, precisely. The meat becomes denatured, which also happens when the meat is heated, and which is also what makes the meat become firm and flaky. But the acids in citrus fruit don't kill bacteria or parasites the way heat does, so you have to use fresh, uncontaminated seafood.

i have to go there me and my oldest sister we eat food like that crabs,shrimp,lobster and maybe that all but our mom wont let us go because she cant have seafood or she will have an allergic reaction and that sucks but i will live on with or without it right yeah but it still sucks

Ah yes, my grandma makes ceviche and it's a household staple. Not for me, I'm not much of a seafood person but I'm glad you like it!

@FoodOddities Great, yeah i LOVE haggis, especially with neeps n tatties "turnip and potato" and Hp brown sauce, if you like i'll send you the sauce which is amazing on bacon sandwiches aswell, and i could send some other foodstuffs, maybe a dandelion and burdock drink, and i'll think about what else people consider odd. i'm glad you like my page, i've also subscribed to yours, i have seen all your vids and i have a lotta respect for you dude! well done on eating the Balut! heheh ciao for now!

@FoodOddities OK dude, here goes, Pickled onioins (chip shop) yes chip shop variety, can be found in the uk everywhere.... pickled onion space raider crisps... very cheap n tasty... heres one exclusive to Scotland until recently (google it, or ask me for details) "deep fried mars bars or cadbury's cream eggs) these chocolate foods are fried in a batter until the batter is crisp and the inside is gooey!!! enjoy ma pal!! let me know what you think.

@FoodOddities Mm spicy. I eat alot of spicy foods (I live in Louisiana, Louisiana is Cajun country, even though I said it 5 times already, and Cajun food is spicy)

I eat so much spicy foods, spicy isn't even spicy.

I seriously drank a bottle of Tobasco sauce.
