I have one and i'm 16 got one for 450 pounds down in Cardiff wales of a nice old man XD W reg Daewoo Matiz SE PLUS. XD I love it! Needs a new alternator and thats it, it is taxed and MOT'D. I am used to the Volvo's size and space inside. The standard equipment, acceleration, top speed etc..

If I was next to a Matiz at the lights and the driver was revving as if to race me, well I am sorry but the Matiz would lose.

And I only drive the Volvo S40 with a 110bhp 4 cylinder 1.6 litre engine, but if I had the 225 bhp 5 cylinder 2.5 litre turbocharged T5 then it would look like the Matiz was going backwards.

I am 40 and the only reason I am currently driving a 2009 registration Chevrolet Matiz SE Lillyanne3579 is because my own car which is a 2008 registration Volvo S40 1.6S is in for repair after a side on impact a few weeks ago.

The Matiz is a courtesy car from the crash repair centre where my car is being looked at, but I would never consider buying, owning and driving a Matiz every day.

I know someone who used to have a Matiz, and he is 22. It was the cause of much fun and mikey taking! Its such a shame it died miserably by leaking petrol and causing fires and stuff. His Picanto is nowhere near as funny, it has'nt caught fire yet - but im sure it wont be long, the build is about the same quality.

@john7380 Why get a Matiz, apart from cult value and immense novelty Everything else on the 2nd hand market is better (even than brand new matiz). Unless you can get one sub £400 don't even touch. They are interesting and all, but N.European cars are far better, and their parts are cheaper. Corsa is a far better buy or a Fiesta. Even better is a Micra - super reliable and Made in UK.

If its scrappage scheme your after, dont waste it on a foriegn made car, buy a Micra!

I'm 34 and drive a Daewoo Matiz like yours but in purple/blue, I find it good on fuel, quite smooth and quiet for a 3-cyl and the tiny dimensions come into their own when looking for a parking space in town LOL. Better than the gas guzzlers I usually drive. Don't you find it is desperately underpowered though..?
