im liking this kind of drumming, especially because it has rythym and flow, unlike those speed drummers just trying to show how fast they can hit a drum. Great Work!
have you heard of contemporary smooth jazz, i heard stuff like this all the time on the various stations such as the Oasis( jazz channel in TX) or Watercolors on XM radio..they explore different sounds, and ideas when it comes to the jazz. frontier, Doesn't have to be the typical ostinato bro.
If you're referring to the melody line... its a fretless bass... maybe some compression and a pre-amp with lots of mids... hope you get the sound you're looking for.
now that is what it is all about!!!! THE GROOVE!!! If you can't establish it, then forget about. Great video man. This is easily one of my favorites. Is there somewhere i can get this full song?
what hes playing is very basic...the fills are also basic..basic is the best way forwrd!....the drumkit is of a very high quality the piccollo snare really sets the rythm off! nice sound
There you go folks!!...right in front of you....a DRUMMER.
I woukd sooner watch guys like this than the kungfu acts any day,..this guy is special make no mistake bout that...if you have say 10/15 yrs or more of good skills and feel and pull it all back to basics...thats what you are left with...an awesome pocket groove player, priceless to most any band.
drumd sound GREAT miced up. Thanks for doing it the right way and not using digicam audio!
nice pocket you got going, thats what its all about man, you can have all the chops in the world but unless you got that groove u aint got it. feel me?
Holy poo.. Wow Ive watched all your videos.. There just all unbeleivable... even though its simple Drumming.. The sound is just better than anyone that ive ever seen ! Good job ! Again !
that was so well done! Simple drumming, but used so well. You sound really good man! I like your taste in beats, your music has such a good flavour to it! Ever thought of releasing a CD?
David, if you could put out a cd of music like this, I'm almost positive you would be happy with the results. Alot of people on youtube really like your sound, and talent. Keep up the good work.
hey just wondering if anyone has any idea how i can get hold of backtracks exactly like that...smooth jazz style? please reply it would be much apreciated...by the way dave beautifull playing thats how drums should sound- that kit is amazing but the person playing is even more. great job, mike..united kingdom
hey dude i really wanna get that simple jazz tune hes playing in the backround cos its cool to play along with an thats all i ever do so im always lookin for new music
prety much flawless and perfect, i wish i could play like u, incredibly smoooth, and is that the actual drum sounds or are u using sensors w/ a comp, which ive heard too
Probably not since he's got his kit setup as right handed. You're probably wondering about the left hand playing ride and hi-hat. It's called "open handed", and a lot of great drummers use it. Take a look at Carter Beauford! :)
very nice dude, love the lenny white left hand playing!! I should work on my left!!! :))

the compression attack on the toms is too quick...
eh, the subkick is alright, no many people use it. I'd rather use an NS-10 sub mod as a mic. Sounds tighter and cleaner...
