Johnny Nelson's comments after the Hatton-Lacazano fight were ludcrious. He said that Hatton looked poor and that Lacazano hit him with a couple of great shots. In boxing, fighters do get hit by their opponents from time to time. Hatton destroyed Lacazano, the Mexican was made of true grit and thats why he didn't get stopped. Hatton was on fine form and Nelson's comments just smacked of desperation and jealousy.

Johnny was a brilliant boxer who never really fulfilled his potential. Nice to see he hasn't lost his competetive instinct but he's better off where he is.

Even at 41, he'd give Haye a lot more trouble than Enzo, but I think it's not worth the risk.

Nelson's professional career got off to a bad start, that much I will not debate. Also his style wasn't always aestheticly pleasing - the draw with Carlos De Leon was an absolute stinker.

However that does not detract from the fact that he was a highly skilled scientific boxer who always turned up in great shape.

As to whether of not he ducked Macca, I don't know, but the injuries that retired him were legit.
