I don't know why but I find fenders to be extremely UGLY. I am not here to say that fender sucks, I know lot of famous musicians use them and they sound great, but just the looks in my personal opinion are super ugly, I love Ibanez for their looks, but I also know that they have inferior quality metal parts in their trem bridges, because i own one.
I just bought a brand new American Jazz bass online. It had an incorrectly cut nut causing it to buzz. Also, the neck wood looked like crap. Fenders slipping these days. I thought they set up and tested the guitars before they shipped them out. Disappointed.
It's apalling how people do not see the quality differences in Mexi's and Americans. I have has several Mexi's, and there is always at LEAST one glaring problem that Stevie Wonder could have seen on the quality control line. American's have never had this issue, But myself personally, I lean towards the Highway 1's or American Specials, just because the amount of wood that is routed out is minimal on the "lower end" Americans. And Texas Specials can't be beat!
Please help me out here. I'm buying a Fender Strat American standard pretty soon, It's a great guitar but the thing is, my amplifier isn't that great. It's an Ibanez Tone X blaster TBX30R, will I still get a really nice sound from it? Some people say that the amp is 50% of the sound and I don't know if my amp's that great. I'd really appreciate any advice.
@RydeMusic I guess solid state amps have improved over the years, but I'd definitely get a tube amp if you're a pro player or at least intend to be, and everybody compliments your playing. I have two Marshall combos (both speakers and amp in one cabinet), because they're less expensive, and easier to cart around than a 50 watt Marshall head and a big 4X12 cabinet. If you can't afford to pay for a killer amp all at once, see if a store has one of those 6 or 12 month 0% financing plans.
@NoMAIG Hey man come on dont be so har on Fender i own an Epi Dot and a MIM Fender Strat and ill admit i prefer the Epi but the fender isnt that bad just that it cant compare to Gibson
@UKToneKing The difference is in the materials used, the quality control (i.e. how carefully they are checked) and the electronics used. Play a USA and then play a Mexican and you will definitely hear a difference. BUT if you pimped out a Mexican with your favourite Seymour Duncan pickups and gave it a pro setup, would the difference still be as great? Im not sure. My pimped out Epiphone les Paul sounds every bit as good as any Gibson!
@kyral210 I recently put some Irongear pups (dirt cheap) in my MiM strat along with all new wiring, pots and some locking tuners and I wouldn't swap it for a custom yank axe. It kicks ass.
It was one of the cheaper MiM's too, made in 96 with horrendously cheap everything and for 120 quid i've got a strat that sounds like it floated down from heaven with an angelic entourage.

@Garrotte123 I agree, apart from one thing. My USA Deluxe P-Bass has a double Jazz at the bridge and side mounted jack + 3 band EQ and pan-pot. That is unique to that bass and worth the £650 I paid for it second hand. Haver, im still going to attack it with Seymour Duncan mods next pay check!
@UKToneKing The pickups are different thats all. Best strat you can get is a mexican made one put on noiseless pickups and atomic humbucker and off you go best sound and that for arround 1000€ ;)
@UKToneKing usa ones have superior electronics piclkups hardware. also bodies are 2 piece for deluxe and 3 piece for standard. mexs uses upto 5 pieces on the bodies. necks are better on usa strats hand rolled fingerboard edges and better fretwork. also usa standards and deluxe fender hold there money better. mexs lose half there value within 3 monthst. a 2006 mint usa strat with little use you can still sell for t £600+ for it.
i no this as i just sold a mint 2006 strat for £625.

@UKToneKing yeah the strat plus holds its money. i just seen one on ad site a 1996 its alight blue one with hss lace sensor pups and pearloid plate mint condition with case and all the docs and neck tag. he want £1,450 for it . that model is the same as the usa deluxe strats now. they say strat plus was one of the best built guitars. and now sort after. i should think the price is right for that model and year and condition is like new.
@who8allthepies I see std usa strats bring £600 - 800 all the time, and now fender has added 2% to all its guitars they are holding up well, I had a deluxe strat before xmas but hated the noiseless pups, the lace censors in my plus are great though and sound just like single coils as they are not stacked they are a long magnet rather than pole pieces, a usa strat a few month old will get close to the asking price, as I would buy a guitar £150 cheaper than new any-day if it was months old

@FunknGrvn yea there's a museum here in Corona CA were they have the first originals and some of the worlds famous guitars ever played so come on down and see for urself
@pandajose09 Alot of people (especially guitar players) would LOVE to have a job working at Fender. I bet it's not SO boring that you would ever quit. Right? By the way, I'll bet it's nearly unheard of for someone to quit or get fired from Fender. The Corona plant would be a dream job in my opinion.
@Xcorgi dude i work here until u sand more than 100 guitars a day while standing for ten hrs straight it gets to you. ive been doing this for about a year and a half so i know what goes around here and yes people do quit and get fired ive seen it more than a dozen tyms. dont get me wrong i love this job the pay is good but there r some days bordom just hits you.

funny...... you can get a Fender made on machines by mexicans in the US or Mexico. Whey are there more americans in the tour of the Mexican factory? lol who knew? .......
@yuki13izumi Both are excellent . Check out the schecters and Godin (excellent guitars) also , and choose according to your taste , the brand isn't so important .
@GroovyGuitar02 wow god thank you so much! I never though someone is going to answer I'm like waiting for ever again thank you soo much but I already got the yamaha guitar! :D
it mite as well be made in mexico cause mexicans in the california factory are making the basses. so why should we pay over $500.00 more just cause its made in california. its still made by mexicans
@born2groove422 you dont get it... the difference with usa mexico or asia is the quality of the components used nothing to do with the builders they fucking retards
Wooaoo I have a squier and i try to take care of it as much as I can and these guys treat the guitars as a piece of a wood. Something for me that I value a god damn lot and they just treat it as if was just something made of wood. Not that they don't work hard and do their best but it is that they just make it look sooooooo simple. :D Fender for life :D
For me Fender is like home... Gibson is a factory... great guitar and much expensive... Fender, great guitar and much "love" (sounds and design)... Thx Fender for existing. (I bought one stratocaster this week :-) I always liked Fender... sorry for my english)
I think and alway's thought Fender sucks, even more now that they bought Jackson and turned Jackson into a strat when they said they weren't going to change Jackson's at all, I'd never buy a new Jackson since Fender took over, Fender in my opinion is over priced for a shitty sounding guitar and you can't tell the difference from a $100 dollar Fender Or a $5,000 dollar Fender, There the most exspensive peices of kindlin wood I've ever seen. I like guitars that can play any style and fender can't
@bdoginit01 I think the reason that you can't tell the difference between a $100 Fender or a $5000 Fender is a combination of you not knowing what to look for in a good guitar and that almost all Fender instruments are of great quality especially when compared to other guitars in a similar price range. As or the versatility of Fender instruments (mainly the stratocaster) they are unmatched.
@StratocasterDude177 The way I see it is that you are limited on what styles of music you can play on a strat, where there are other guitars alllow you to play any style
@winster626 You aren't kidding (Gibson factory experience). It looks nice and magical on all these cut-and-paste promos on the internet, but at the end of the day it's still a job...sometimes a grueling one. It reminds me of doing write-offs from elementary.
Strange country. Comparing apples and oranges, knocking products when no one here has ever even attempted to design, build, sell and create anything like the iconic guitars discussed. And then there are the doubters: "these are only worth $100". You can't buy the electronics for that! On another note- awesome, inspiring video. Thanks for posting.
Hola, mira todo lo que hay de tras de una Fender, guitarra excepcional, majestuosa,, y cuanta mano hispana para lograr una Guitarra Clasica estadounidense.. es para reflecionar,,!!
@violetoctohedron Dude theres a video, its called How to biuld a '59 Gibson. It's a son and his dad making a Gibson Les Paul copy out of their garage. When the dad wasaked how much it cost to make the Les Paul copy, he said $150. And he used all the same woods like mahogany and maple top and rosewood fretboard. THEN he built an SG for only $80. Gibson is just getting greedy. And thats why we have Chinese copies.
@StephenFiorentini same for me XD I got a cream colored 1977 tele with a rosewood neck, it's an awesome guitar, just to bad that the pickups aren't original anymore
@buffalo4321able If you screamed GIBSON in the Fender factory I suspect the whole world would begin to implode in on the very point you were standing on. All the matter of the universe would compress into one tiny point at your feet. The only other situation that can cause this phenomenon is if somone were to type the word "google" in to Google.
American Made ? but Mexican laborers evidently. They probably are like most Big Business they hire illegals to do the work pay very little and rack in the profits......
Fenders are great guitars, hard to be beat, But cheap labor may explain why the quality over the years has gotten a little slack but the prices keep going up.
Is this an add for In-sourcing instead of outsourcing American jobs ?
@MrTaills There are tons of Hispanic Americans who live in California so I seriously doubt Fender is hiring illegals. Besides Hispanics have been working at the Fender plant since day one in the 50s. Look in the neck pockets of some vintage strats and you will no doubt see a hispanic name. Abigail ybarra, one of Fender's long time pickup winders who wound Hendrix's pickups is a Mexican American. Look at the names of many of the Custom shop builders and you will see many of hispanic origin..
@MrTaills EVERY EMPLOYEE OF FENDER IS A BONAFIED CITIZEN OF THE GOOD OL US of A. I was skeptical of their hiring practices as well. BUt my best friend is there and they are VERY strict and stick to a rigid hiring process that insures they have not broken the law or have hired illegals. They do not hire you if you cant speak English too. ANd its not cheap. Average hourly wage is $25 an hour!!!
Fenders made In USA are too expensive, can't afford them. Think I'll go for a China made Fender look-alike then change the pickups to DiMarzios and Ernie Ball strings. Yep, that'll do the trick.
@DaBuGzLiFe Wow I mean come on dude.... come here 2 Nashville I will give U a tour. As hard as they are on us guys to make the guitar perfect it is hard for me to believe that anyone make a better guitar. Really

0marginal0 1 year ago
I think and alway's thought Fender sucks, even more now that they bought Jackson and turned Jackson into a strat when they said they weren't going to change Jackson's at all, I'd never buy a new Jackson since Fender took over, Fender in my opinion is over priced for a shitty sounding guitar and you can't tell the difference from a $100 dollar Fender Or a $5,000 dollar Fender, There the most exspensive peices of kindlin wood I've ever seen. I like guitars that can play any style and fender can't
bdoginit01 1 year ago
@bdoginit01 I think the reason that you can't tell the difference between a $100 Fender or a $5000 Fender is a combination of you not knowing what to look for in a good guitar and that almost all Fender instruments are of great quality especially when compared to other guitars in a similar price range. As or the versatility of Fender instruments (mainly the stratocaster) they are unmatched.
StratocasterDude177 1 year ago

And thats why we have Chinese copies.

what'll happen to me if i scream GIBSON there?
buffalo4321able 1 year ago

MrTaills 1 year ago
@MrTaills There are tons of Hispanic Americans who live in California so I seriously doubt Fender is hiring illegals. Besides Hispanics have been working at the Fender plant since day one in the 50s. Look in the neck pockets of some vintage strats and you will no doubt see a hispanic name. Abigail ybarra, one of Fender's long time pickup winders who wound Hendrix's pickups is a Mexican American. Look at the names of many of the Custom shop builders and you will see many of hispanic origin..
YogiSizzle 1 year ago
@MrTaills EVERY EMPLOYEE OF FENDER IS A BONAFIED CITIZEN OF THE GOOD OL US of A. I was skeptical of their hiring practices as well. BUt my best friend is there and they are VERY strict and stick to a rigid hiring process that insures they have not broken the law or have hired illegals. They do not hire you if you cant speak English too. ANd its not cheap. Average hourly wage is $25 an hour!!!

So they are carved using CNC milling machines. I am just wondering, are those custom shop models hand carved or they are also CNC milled?

Fenders made In USA are too expensive, can't afford them. Think I'll go for a China made Fender look-alike then change the pickups to DiMarzios and Ernie Ball strings. Yep, that'll do the trick.
mrblurblur2003 1 year ago
this makes me realized how much more overpriced the guitars are than i thought they were.
