showed my gf how to drive a 4995 with a 994 head last year she did awesome...no arugement here on girls doing a good job...i have three daughters so defintley no complaining here
Ok first off, I would like to say THAT'S ME!!! Don't understand why it's so impressive that a GIRL is doing such a fine job at puttin hay on the ground...won't go there! And to answer all your questions, Yes it was an extremely smooth field (DUH) if you're going that fast! And we try to cut as fast as possible. No time to take time! We have WAY too many acres to cut in such a short amount of time. And about the overlapping issue, you got it exactly right Don!
i just watched it again...she's overlapping about 3 or 4 feet what a waste...u could run half the speed and take a full swath and still cut just as much...
She's finishing out a span between the wheel tracks. You cut up against the tracks on each end of a span then cut out the section in between. You adjust the last two or three passes to make it come out so you don't end up mowing an existing windrow on the last pass and you have to end up with an even number of passes between spans because they use v-rakes to put two windrows together. Look at my other video and you'll see she takes a full swath the rest of the time. She's a damned good operator.
15 MPH ??Are ya'll insane? I run about 7-8 and get 10 acres per hour with a 994 header...14'6" Wide. That's Running with greenstar set on 14'5" one inch of overlap. You've gotta be getting closer to 15 acres an hr or so man that must be a smooth field...
