Id love to know what the legal battle was like when the other guys wanted to continue Deep Purple ,...but WITHOUT that asshole Ritchie Blackmore. I can only imagine the fight between both parties that occured before an agreement was finalized. Deep Purple is a much,much, much BETTER BAND with Steve Morse at the helm! Anyone who doesn't agree is fucking deaf!

Why is Ritchie Blackmore such a blight to the band he helped found? This "performance" on his part absolutely SUCKED! Ya dont walk over to the amp & adjust it during the fucking solo! You know the solo perfectly & adjust to the situation accordingly. No wonder DP has had so many personnel issues when Ritchie is involved (hell, look at his other bands too!) STEVE MORSE blows Ritchie Blackmore the fuck away! DP is waay better off with Steve Morse!!

Richie's a great guitarist but what he did on stage to camera guy is fucked up. His solo was all over the place with no real timing. More of jam along solo.

My sympathy is all with Ian Gillan! Everybody knows that Ritchie is genius but sometimes he treats the guys wrong. I had a drink with Ian Gillan and Ian Paice once and they are FANTASTIC!!!! And I'm Deep Purple's much obsessed fan!

I was there that night. Was a bit worried when Ritchie never appeared until half way through the first song and when he did he threw water. Ian Gillan was NOT the intended target as is so often assumed. It was the Camera man. Great night.

Ritchie Blackmore was one of my most influential rock guitarists when I was a teen, I learned so many of his solos and played lots of DP in cover bands around the UK. But his attitude always sucked. Asshole, uptight primadonna arrogance. No talent gives anyone the right to be a prick to others and get away with it. Sorry Ritchie, I hope you've mellowed with age.

@PoorguyNick I didn't know that was the only other option for stage behavior. I'd honestly say he's being a baby.. Why record something and not want a camera on your side? If he didn't want to be there, he should have left long before or just not have rejoined in the first place. You know.. be professional. A band is a business and sometimes you don't always enjoy what you have to do. Doing it anyway and not complaining is being a man..
