  • A video would have added to the energy of this track :)

  • nice band, but i wouldnt call it sweet, id call it quite bitter. in a fritzie-maple-tarnish-doorknob kind of way. MEGADETH WHERE ITS AT!!!!!!!

  • @MArUpadiyum actually the band called sweet was considered a bubble gum pop rock band when i was a fan of rock music back in the mid 1970's that's not to say they were bad. but they were not considered heavy by any stretch. at that time led zeppelin was huge and that was a bench mark of rock and roll, not to mention countless others. i have to say their music still sounds fresh and fun! check out the band slade they have some great tunes as well! and don't forget iggy and the stooges!

  • altro successone e mia preferita

  • musik in vollendung.klasse

  • @kutupbear that's what got me hear catch44 lol I never heard of them till that movie I said dam that song rocking! I wonder who sing it

  • I so want to get my Sweet lp back from my Mom's boyfriend!! Blame teenage brainlessness for letting it go in the first place :)

  • esa no es la version original!

  • @peachromero ¡Oh está sí!

  • More gritty version than I've ever heard, and I like it!

  • thumbs up if catch 44 brought u here

  • I love this song.

  • SWEET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song sticks to your mind !!!!! AWSOME !!!!! I wish the local station would play it. I completely forgot about this song until I accidentaly was searching for videos and this song was attached to the video. I immediately freaked out and played it dozens of times. There is a remix version of this song which also has Blockbuster intergrated with it. I wish I was back in the 70's !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brian Connell R.I.P.

  • Better. Much better.

  • Different, but I like it:)

  • This version is not better.

  • This version is better man.

  • awesine

  • FUCK YEAH

  • I like this version too...It has more CRUNCH!

  • Does anyone else get a real 'punk' feeling from this one? <3

  • Yeah the word FOX was big at this time for a Good Looking Girl. I remember writing it to all the girls in their yearbook, Anyone remember the world CHUMP also being big at this time. That guys such a Chump! and his girl is such a Fox. Of course was in 8th grade at the time

  • Sorry...the only reason most like the original version is because it's something we haven't heard (or hear often)....The U S version is much better.....But that being said, I wouldnt mind having the European LP (Deso Blvd) tooo.

  • @pilot9781 The "US version"??. It is recorded in Roger Glovers studio in ENGLAND.

  • @pilot9781 The only opinion and reasoning you can speak of with certainty is your own. Some of us prefer Sweet's rawer, jammier stuff. Regarding the re-make, I prefer the guitar solo and Mick's fill after 1st chorus, but could do without Andy's high-pitched screams and synth parts.

  • @intuantu You're right...It's a matter of opinion...I suppose if I heard the original version first, maybe my thinking would be different.

  • @pilot9781 Right on, fellow Sweet fan!

  • Good to know someone else knows the REAL version! Fuckin' A!

  • Never heard this either. Much prefer this over the Disco version.

  • bad audio quality

  • This is pretty good, and it's interesting to hear how Sweet originally conceived the song, but the re-recorded single is the way I remember it and I prefer that "stylized " version of "Fox On The Run"- no contest. It's got a lot more verve and vigor in the overall sound, which is what I always loved about this song.

  • glam rock > all

  • I've never heard this version before and it's brilliant!!! and I heard the original album back in the day.

  • @BillMinworth Did you have the European version of the album or the American one? This version wasn't on the American album.

  • @Dyynamo I heard the European version which had the synth on it as did the uk single

  • @BillMinworth I'd like to know what the track list was on the album you heard. The original album was released with the version here and the band didn't go back into the studio until a few months later to re-record it as a single with the synths etc.

  • @Dyynamo I couldn't tell you, best bet is to google it. The sweet led by Brian rehearsed in the same studio as I did in the mid eighties. I think it was arcaidia in Hockley Birmingham and I was in a band called 'the shoal' by then his voice had gone!

  • @BillMinworth I checked Wikipedia and it goes along with what I've said.

  • This is brilliant. Alot better than the rerecorded version with the synthsizer and cheesy effects. This is rock n roll at its finest

  • thanks for posting i realy like the original more anything else

  • YAY for glam!

  • america got it right! ha

  • The best version of the song without keyboards and vocal effects...

more rock and less artifificial...good song!

  • still the BEST and original version of the song ! Nice raw vocals from Brian, much more rock'n roll than the commercialised, keyboardy single version ! This was the FIRST album I ever had !...got it for Xmas 1974 !

  • Ace Frehley version is better

  • This is good, but nothing to the American single, sorry.

  • @kitster900

The American single as you call it is the worldwide single and was a number 2 in the charts in the UK. The reasons for re-recording are well documented. The record company wanted another single from the band and their mentors, Chinn and Chapman, had provided the band with a song for a new single (I wanna Be Commited) but the subject matter of Mental Health wasn't thought of as a good topic, so they went back into the studio to re-record Fox On The Run and released that as a single.

  • Sounds more like metal, than the glam rock I associate Sweet with. Not bad, but I prefer the classic "U.S. single" version. Sounds like Noddy Holder of Slade (not that that's a bad thing, mind you - just different)!

  • @screwyootube1 I've been looking for that glam rock sound too that makes sweet sound different than the other metal groups. Do you know where to find the US single version? Is it on youtube or a free download somewhere?

  • still rocks!

  • det sutter!!!!!!!

  • WOW!Great Song!

Never heard this version before, since I don't have that Album!:-((

    Andrea

  • Bad. But I love it!

  • Too bad that I haven't lived in this times.... :( I love the music from the 70's <33 thanks for uploading. my fave version of this song :)

  • Ahhh this is wonderful

  • This is better than the single version..much heavier..great drum sound.

  • A good live version, but certainly not the same as the record. I wondered what they were going to do with the triple-tracked slide guitar solo and all that impossibly high background singing.

  • As I said in the title, this is the original version of the song. It was recorded in the studio in 1974 but the single version wasn't recorded until 1975.

  • Was this version of the song on an album preceding "Desolation Boulevard"?

If so, what is the name of the album?

  • It was on the British and European version of Desolation Boulevard, which is different from the American version which has the single version of Fox On the Run on it.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks, I knew many years only versions with "micro moog".

  • @Dyynamo This one is closer to the one I remember, but I remember more of an echo repeating lyrics on the verses. Was that the american single version everyone is talking about? Is it here on youtube?

  • @Dyynamo And the UK version of the Desolation Boulevard album doesn't include "The 6-Teens",correct?

  • @texs2007

No, your wrong. Its the opening track on the album. The title of the album is a line from the song remember.

  • I had the album Desolation Boulevard and it contained the hit version of Fox On the Run. Not this version. Did I get a reissued album?

  • You probably got the American version of the album which had some songs off Sweet Fanny Adams and some off the European version of Desolation Boulevard, plus a couple more songs.

  • @Hroller1 If the label says Capitol, then no. You have either the US or possibly Canadian issue. If it says RCA,then check where the album was made...the hit version was not on the British edition.

  • Best version of this song

    Love it!!

  • Awesome version!!!

  • This version rocks!!!!

  • Love this version!

  • One of their best ROCKING SONG EVER!!!

  • Now,THIS is what should have been on the american Capitol Records lp!

  • I haven't heard this version for a while. Thanks again.
