Biggest Letdown in the history of animated films!!!, period
Even back than I thought this movie wasn't faithful to the original cartoon, its more a film version of the T+J show from the 70s than the amazing shorts, I mean it doesn't have the same charm, plot, lovable characters and did I forget to mention Tom and Jerry speak (more often) Its a shame because back than we wern't expecting it to be this bad, god the opening was the only bit that felt like a T+J cartoon than the whole film 1/5
Whouda thunk it? First minute Ted Turner's colorizing our favorite films, now he's making our favorite characters talk. Must have been the fumes from his magic markers talking.
I thought this movie was okay at first. But now I realize how bad it is. First of all, Tom and Jerry were never meant to speak fluently. Yes, they did speak on VERY rare occasions in the original cartoon shorts. But they were never meant to speak full sentences or anything. Plus, the plot in this movie is cliche and bogus. And probably one of the biggest flaws in this movie besides Tom and Jerry's friendship is the overuse of musical numbers. And boy are those songs corny.

@matrixfan127 (maturely) NO KIDDING?, you think that it ignores the original slapstick things?, LET ME REFRESH YOUR MEMORY, for instance: a scene when jerry fishing with tom`s tail and he screams flying to the air comically after the fish bites him, or when they have a comical fight with the fat dog, those are the same tom and jerry humor style, but obviously it had to be different, and naturally making comic teamwork
@matrixfan127 comical teamwork and different (but comedy-drama) story, and in other words at the end of the film they give a cat and mouse chase like the old times, those teamwork and friendship things also happened in the original shorts like for example: DOG TROUBLE, THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS or even HEAVENLY CAT, So obviously they are both rivals and friends as we can see, AND THAT`S MY LAST WORD!
@diegoradoblasio Well, why did it "obviously" have to be different from the show? there's no point of making a movie if it's "obviously" gonna have to be different, a movie based on a TV show is really an extended episodes of the show that isn't "obviously" different from the movie, for example, the simpsons movie wasn't "obviously" different from the show, it had the same them and tune as the show, and it was great.

The only reason I like this movie is the way they were draw and watching Thomas talk and sing. I actually hate Jerry's voice and they are nothing without the violence.
@thomasfan1993 Why don't you watch the newer TnJ films that were directed by Spike Brandt? That kind of animation is awsome, especially the stories. To me, this is a cousin of Arabian Knight (Bastardization of the unfinished project "The Thief and the Cobbler").

I saw this movie when i was 4, even then i didn't like it. this is the worst movie ever. Its on the same level as garbage pail kids , but i still retained my spirit after watching that.
I love all the classic Tom and Jerry and when I heard there was going to be a movie I was excited when I finally did I couldn't believe they would put such wondeful characters into such a bad movie -_- I sadly didn't make it through the whole movie and I usually try to watch things atleast once be judging. Both the feline and rodent superstars has earn their spot in the hanna-barbera universe even though their movie didn't do that good at the box office 19 years ago.
I have only seen it once. Loved it, but now, thinking back. It was nothing special. I have almost every friggin Tom & Jerry episode recorded on VHS. From Cartoon-Network.. jesus, those were the days.
I wanted to see this movie when I was a kid; I was nine at the time. However, I saw it a few years ago and I'm glad I didn't throw money on it as a kid.
Unfortunately, this isn't one of the best Tom and Jerry movies due to not very much of the slap sticks, wrong choice of story and characters for Tom and Jerry, and awkward choice of voice actors for Tom & Jerry. Well, I don't care how many times this movie was hated, I still like this movie due to the way they were drawn and Tom and Jerry talking.

Since there are more than 1 Tom & Jerry movie and they're going to release a live action one (which probily sucks), this should have been titled "Tom & Jerry in Frantic Antics" from a Tom & Jerry Movie video game on Game Boy.

I'm so crushing on Jerry, but the mistake was that since Jerry is an adult mouse, refurred to "Blue Cat Blues" and "Milky Waif", he was given a little boy's voice instead of a young man's. You don't have to like this film. I bet there are othe movies that I do hate. Like "Bambi" when Thumper was smittin', the background music was, man, something I want to plug my ears to.

You will have to forgive me for hating Bambi last year. I was just scared of the music in that certain scene as a little kid (haven't seen it for a long time). Maybe I don't hate it now since I've grew up. There are other Tom and Jerry films that are alot better than this.
I didn't like this film it all. It's not very funny and more to do with the orphan girl than Tom and Jerry. It was like they made up the orphan girl idea and needed more characters, so they put Tom and Jerry in for effect.
Also, Tom and Jerry talking? NOPE. They're not meant to talk apart from brief moments every few episodes. The music and facial expressions are meant to convey their thoughts. Jerry sounded sort of cute talking but I much prefer him silent.
I always love this movie. I've heard they're going to release a live action movie and I don't think it's going to be any good, like Underdog, which was almost a rip-off compare to the cartoon. I like Tom & Jerry as drawing and I always have ever since I was a kid.
This movie is not as bad as people say. Sure Tom and Jerry shouldn't talk but I enjoyed it when I was a kid. The plot had quite a few interesting twists and turns. A classic nonetheless.
People still complaining about them talking take things a bit too personally when it comes to a franchise and rant on whatever till they have no more breath; besides the company learned from it and Tom and Jerry never spoke since. I cannot call this the greatest movie ever but I certainly can call it a significant part of my childhood but ah to me there's no such thing as the greatest movie ever since everyone has their favorites and the term greatest movie ever is raped to no end.

I guess so, there was no redeeming factor to this movie. At least made for TV movie Tom and Jerry: Fast and the Furriest stay true to T&J's personality and comic timing.
Just in 32 sec of the trailer you thought this was going to be the funnies movie you'll ever see but after you here the thing that has nothing to do with them your face goes down and the only werd you would say is Whaaaaaaat!
Wow, that's a bold statement considering some of Bluth's films were pretty bad. But then again. T&J was pretty bad while Titan AE was actually Bluth's last good film.
Titan AE was in cartoon in hell in which it wanted to cater to the teenage crowd and adult audiences. It was critically acclaimed but it unfortunately bombed in the box office. It had a solid story and the premise was well done. There was a controversial scene ( I won't explain it because it's part of the story) but I thought it was much ado about nothing. It's a definitely a good movie and one of Bluth's best. Top 3 for me it would be number 2 behind Secret of Nihm.

@pixargod I'll agree on all of those, especially Titan AE that was so underrated (ADGTH was a little weird, especially the part with the big lipped alligator).
I have to admit the only good thing about The Pebble and The Penguin was Tim Curry as the villain. Now a Troll in Central Park is definitely one of the worst films ever made. Also as for Thumbelina I don't really remember much about it other than the fact that John Hurt and Gilbert Gottfried were in it obviously for a paycheck.
@pixargod I did like Tim Curry as the villain. Don Bluth started making weird stuff in the 90's (with the exception of Anastasia and Titan AE), especially Rock a doodle, the pebble and the penguin, and....Troll in central park.

I have only seen it once. Loved it, but now, thinking back. It was nothing special. I have almost every friggin Tom & Jerry episode recorded on VHS. From Cartoon-Network.. jesus, those were the days.

Unfortunately, this isn't one of the best Tom and Jerry movies due to not very much of the slap sticks, wrong choice of story and characters for Tom and Jerry, and awkward choice of voice actors for Tom & Jerry. Well, I don't care how many times this movie was hated, I still like this movie due to the way they were drawn and Tom and Jerry talking.

Since there are more than 1 Tom & Jerry movie and they're going to release a live action one (which probily sucks), this should have been titled "Tom & Jerry in Frantic Antics" from a Tom & Jerry Movie video game on Game Boy.

@dolphinluv2413 Apperantly, yes, because of the way they are drawn are really attractive to me with their eyes & mouth wider. I'm so crushing on Jerry, but the mistake was that since Jerry is an adult mouse, refurred to "Blue Cat Blues" and "Milky Waif", he was given a little boy's voice instead of a young man's. You don't have to like this film. I bet there are othe movies that I do hate. Like "Bambi" when Thumper was smittin', the background music was, man, something I want to plug my ears to.

@dolphinluv2413 You know wht? You're right. This movie does kinda suck. The slapsticks are too rare and Tom and Jerry are nothing without the slapsticks. You will have to forgive me for hating Bambi last year. I was just scared of the music in that certain scene as a little kid (haven't seen it for a long time). Maybe I don't hate it now since I've grew up. There are other Tom and Jerry films that are alot better than this.

I didn't like this film it all. It's not very funny and more to do with the orphan girl than Tom and Jerry. It was like they made up the orphan girl idea and needed more characters, so they put Tom and Jerry in for effect.
Also, Tom and Jerry talking? NOPE. They're not meant to talk apart from brief moments every few episodes. The music and facial expressions are meant to convey their thoughts. Jerry sounded sort of cute talking but I much prefer him silent.

I always love this movie. I've heard they're going to release a live action movie and I don't think it's going to be any good, like Underdog, which was almost a rip-off compare to the cartoon. I like Tom & Jerry as drawing and I always have ever since I was a kid.

This movie is not as bad as people say. Sure Tom and Jerry shouldn't talk but I enjoyed it when I was a kid. The plot had quite a few interesting twists and turns. A classic nonetheless.

People still complaining about them talking take things a bit too personally when it comes to a franchise and rant on whatever till they have no more breath; besides the company learned from it and Tom and Jerry never spoke since. I cannot call this the greatest movie ever but I certainly can call it a significant part of my childhood but ah to me there's no such thing as the greatest movie ever since everyone has their favorites and the term greatest movie ever is raped to no end.

I guess so, there was no redeeming factor to this movie. At least made for TV movie Tom and Jerry: Fast and the Furriest stay true to T&J's personality and comic timing.

Titan AE was in cartoon in hell in which it wanted to cater to the teenage crowd and adult audiences. It was critically acclaimed but it unfortunately bombed in the box office. It had a solid story and the premise was well done. There was a controversial scene ( I won't explain it because it's part of the story) but I thought it was much ado about nothing. It's a definitely a good movie and one of Bluth's best. Top 3 for me it would be number 2 behind Secret of Nihm.

I have to admit the only good thing about The Pebble and The Penguin was Tim Curry as the villain. Now a Troll in Central Park is definitely one of the worst films ever made. Also as for Thumbelina I don't really remember much about it other than the fact that John Hurt and Gilbert Gottfried were in it obviously for a paycheck.
