Of corse you show how to make a car pc with stuff that we have to buy... why can i not use my desktop next to me with less crap like cd drive pci accessories and put a 12volt power supply in it and use it in my car. i am positive this can work but i cant find anything on it. any one with advice??
@blistic3000 this depends on what kind of computer you want (customization, etc.). It is pretty much always cheaper if you are willing to search yourself for components and install and do not need holes drilled in the case or anything. Also better to assemble yourself, as you will most likely, from time to time, want to modify your carpc.
or you could just get an ssd instead of an equally expensive automotive hdd
