  • This was a very helpful video. Thank you.

  • Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I am living in Australia and have a question about the sunscreen component. If you use the hypericum oil - doesn't the oil encouraging burning? Our sun is very harsh here. Thank you!

  • @iamleothelioness , capsules or pills of St. J's will encourage sunburn but the infused oil is a great cure for burns and a sunscreen. If you're going to be out in the bush or on the beach all day you'd probably want a wide brimmed hat along with St. J's to be your allies against burning.

  • What an awesome video I am so exstatic for finding your channel!!!! Blessed Be Sister! )0(

  • Great video - thank you! And Lavender essential oil is great for sunburn.

  • Thanks for the VALUABLE info! It was very hot this summer, unusually so and it felt as if i could burn in half the time as I normally would!! I enjoy watching your series, I could curl up to your videos until the cows come home! Looking forward to hearing about many more gifts from nature!

  • Very good info. As a sun screen specially since commercial sun screens cause skin cancer. Thank you

  • I will have to remember that, I am lucky in only that once I get a tan, I don't burn anymore the tan just gets darker.

  • very nice video, thank you for making it....

    Blessed Be..

  • Wonderful!, thank you so much for sharing.. Casey.

  • This reminds me that I need to go out and harvest some St John's Wort, assuming it is still in flower in the UK. I made a tincture of it a couple of months ago but haven't needed to use it yet.

I've had a fun day today harvesting elderberries, sloe berries, rose hips (dog rose) and blackberries. I made two large jars of elderberry tincture and one large jar of home grown milk thistle tincture about an hour ago. :-) Tomorrow I'm going to harvest some Scots Pine and I will look out for St John.

  • Fabulous information as always, Susun! Thank you! So basically, there are properties in the oil that are antiinflammatory, yes? When you talk about the oil, do you mean PURE oil directly from the plant, or are you infusing an oil with the plant to create an oil? Blessings! Just love you!!!!

  • @greenwitchlady Pack flowers in olive oil into a jar, place into the sun to infuse into the oil. It will turn red red red. I've never done it personally, my St John's plants were grown from seed this year and did not flower. But I have read about the method, and saw a video about it from James Wong, ethnobotanist.

  • saint Johns Wort oil certainley works well on sunscorched skin~ a beautiful plant and friend

  • @iamearthbornami Oh..I did not know this I thought it was only for depression and anxiety......hmmmm thanks my dear freind isn't she (WW) a blessing...=)

  • Thank you for another wonderfully helpful video ! I made some of the oil this summer as a sunscreen, i didn't know it was also used as a pain reliever. Good to know !

    Much Love and Blessings )O(
