  • are u scared to hold him? i would ahaha looks crazy

  • @est1994jsm haha No I am not. I just recently held him, he was half asleep in my hand. I was just checking his weight since he did not want to eat in the last 3 weeks.

  • That's a really nice looking frog. I've been spellbound by the Surinam since I saw some metamorphs with wonderful patterns. Is he still sleeping? My Cranwell's has been underground for a few weeks now, although I hear him croak from time-to-time (this is perfectly normal for him, he only tends to come to the surface for a dump and to eat); are the Surinams fossorial, too, or do they stick to the surface more?

  • They can bury themselves. It is mine perfers to sleep above ground. Yeah he is sleeping all the time this winter. So is my Cranwelli. Thanks for the compliments.

  • Hi RoblinPrime, my Surinam is awake at night, still showing no interest in nightcrawlers, Dubia cockroaches, nor fuzzy mice. When in the warm months my frog is very eager to eat nightcrawlers and cockroaches. He sleeps during the day and night lately. I have a large cork log my frog hides behind. He is on the cool side and does not move to the warm area. He does tend to burrow.

  • He does not tend to burrow.

  • HE IS LOVELY

  • Thank you realdreams1234! He is sleeping this winter.

  • J 's videos always rock!

  • Thank you man. I hope things are doin' well for you at then end of the year.

  • Lol sorry about the roaches

  • Oh realy where do you get them now you order online

  • The roaches or the Cornuta?

  • LOL...That is why it is cute seeing these little things have attitude...Yah I will go on there now i'll send you the link to your mailbox I just happened to see it when I go to the show I am gonna sign up for a mailing list or something...Yah that is what I am planning getting some meal worms and wax worms may true butter worms if they are cheap enough just hope my turtle takes to them...So to you breed any of your own food I keep telling myself to do so...lol

  • Dubia Roaches. But they take forever to breed.

  • Im sorry about calling her the wrong sex...Are they pretty snappy I heard that have bit of an attitude...lol...I was thinking of getting a budgett frong...lol...Oh cool maybe I will bump into you at the show I think it is on the 10th-11th I have to look on kingsnake again for the dates I wanna leave with something but if not I will get some live food for sure...You planning on getting anything at the show?

  • Yeah, no problem. She is not snappy at all lately. All baby Horned Frogs will snap at your hands and fingers. You can let me know about the show, I hhave not seen it. Send me a mail of the flyer. I am not planning on getting anything, but I plan on checking out what they have at the show. If anything, I would buy roaches at the show, since my frogs will be very active and hungry at that time of year.

  • Shows you did a good job if he was able to reach this size is he pretty much full grown? Hey are you gonna check out the show in April in san Mateo?

  • I say this is a she. Because when I had my WC Surinam he never grew past 3 inches. She had grown so much. Her head, her body has really filled out. I handled her for the 1st time in about 2 months last night. I will go to the San Mateo show, my birthday is the 22nd of April. I want to be there for sure.

  • WOw nice looking frog nice marking's so how big was he when you got him

  • This frog was a large as a U.S. Dime.

  • so do they estiviate? (hope i spelled that right)

    thats really cool nice vid

  • Yes they can astivate. When the weather is too cool or too hot these frogs are known to make a cacoon of skins that is moist and insulates them for many months. I don't suggest astevation on young frogs. Don't owrry I spell it wrong all the time.

  • oh i thought they do it instinctivly but yeah... so do they match their cycles with ours or do they do it in the winter (in the US )
