never mind I saw below you had the 503. I'm considering put the puddle jump floats on mine and I was wondering if you feel the 503 is plenty enough power to carrying two adults total weight in persons of 295lbs
I am 182 lbs and have carried a 270 lb passenger. Climb rate was way down, but the aircraft handled it. I know of another CW with 503 that carried two with a total weight of 510 lb.
Ok lets say I'm 182lbs as well, with a 200lbs passanger on a calm no wind day. How much distance do you need to take off? Any other info about this configuration would be great. thanks.
hello. im thinking looking into ultralights.i think i would rather get a single seat ultralight to cut down on costs and regulations. what do you think would be good for me? possible rough landing area, big(ish) guy, never flown before. id like to take classes so i dont crash and die but dont want to have to get the n number and go through all the other hassle. any recomendations?
You should definitely get some flying lessons. I recommend a single seat Challeger if you want to fly under ultralight rules. Beef up the landing gear for rough landing areas. ( larger wheels & fiberglass landing gear instead of aluminum ).
i think the challenger l (not special) would be best but i havent heard much about the engine is the 277 enough or do u think 377 or the 447 whould be better. would i loose fuel economy with the bigger engine? and what would mpre power give me? ( hual more weight or just more speed?) thanks again
looking more into fully getting the 2 seater, my thinking is if im going to get training anyway why not go all the way. is it a lot harder to get everything done and ready to fly a 2 seater as far as classes, test, time, money?
This was beautiful. I'm a private pilot and am in the process of building the light sport version of the Challenger. What power plant did you choose for yours? Again, great video. Really fun to watch.

Go with the biggest engine that will still let the airplane qualify as an ultralight.
Power is safety.

My clipwing Challenger II has a Rotax 503. Also, last summer I finished a RV7A , which now has over a 100 hrs.
