how have only 21,087 people viewed this?!?! its flawless, he's just one of those guitarists you could listen to all day, sure he has the "flashy" runs but it ALWAYS sounds so so good, just like EJ, groove central!
@guitarfan1979 Hey Man, no need to hate, GG is awesome and I love his music, but Andy is pretty awesome too man, just in his own way, like every other great guitar player. They all have their own touch. Have a good day :-)
@guitarfan1979 gurthie leaves me cold .a poor mans RK at his best .at his worst a technically precise boring unmusical mathematician . naturally i would prefer to keep this to my self, but when you start spreading crap about other player its fair game .
@travelerchase19 It is a kind of a medley based in different songs that have something to do with Stevie Ray Vaughan. I know there's Scuttle Butting and Stevie's Blues (from tommy emmanuel) over there. =)
@theshyguitarist well iv read ur little dispute cute, but i gatta say both of you are wrong cuz u aint got vids too lol. i dont either lol so we all gatta shut up lol
No real need for tabs.. if you know your pentatonics, find some really cool sounding chromatic licks and there you go. He loves throwing in those bebop-ish runs.
lol yeah probably, but you make it sounds way easier than it actually is. I mean, that part is harder than any gilbert/satch/vai's licks and just as fast, I dare to bet any day. I did try but can't get nearly up to his speed yet.
In fact you can see a lot of people already covered most of guitar heroes tunes almost note for note, but I haven't seen any one able to play Timmons monster licks or even any close to what he does.
I rate the level of difficulty second only to govan.
man, believe me, i know your pain, the only song of his i can cover note for note is cry for you, and i'm getting to learn there are no words now, start with them man, you pick up a lot of stuff from those 2 songs, if your guitar can handle the tension, tune a half step up for cry for you though, that's how he tunes live.
I love how he lets go the guitar as if he had complete control of it (wich he does COMPLETELY).... it adds so much character to the performance... great song... great plater... good times...
I remember seeing him at a clinic in Memphis when he was with Danger Danger. I think they were opening up for Kiss of something. Man he was so good. You could tell he was light years ahead of the rest of the band then.
Andy Timmons, best damn guitarist ever. In his 40s and 20s. He has always been the best and has never received enough credit for it. Well I'm gonna see him live at the Dallas guitar show this month. Hopefully to get some videos up of him.
What a beast.

So You have to grow up a little to understand phrasing and feel of Andy's playing mate ;-)
MarcinStarszewski 2 years ago 23
@MarcinStarszewski You have to grow up a little to learn how to communicate with folks who don't think like you without acting condescending.
A lot of people don't dig Andy's playing. Nothing wrong with that... Vive la difference my friend. Be well.

To each their own I say, I love this guy personally. I know where you're coming from too, Steve Vai's guitar playing does nothing for me.
