To give you the quick answer, Bakersfield has good things to offer, but theres nothing here that you can't find in another nicer city- like the cities closer to the coast. (not saying Bakersfield is ugly, but it isnt the stereotypical California beach town, we're not near the ocean.)
I know this is might be a stupid question but is it worth it to visit it beceause I'm going to the usa to travel around the west-coast and stuff but normally we end in los angeles but my brother wants to go to bakersfield also and come back then to los angeles but I don't know there isn't much to see there or am I wrong?(I'm from belgium so it's a 16 hour flight!)
@brianke82 Skip Bakersfield if you're flying 16hrs from Belgium!!! Places to consider visiting in California are: Mendocino National Forest, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Sequoia National Park, Santa Monica/LA, and San Diego. You can skip everything else in between.
@TheSuwai I'll be there for 1 month so I'm visiting that anyway! but at the end I'm a couple of days in LA,and my brother wanted to visit Bakersfield,so why not,I think it will be fun there,a few people suggested it so I've made my choice, still thanks for answering!
thers all kinds of shit to do essse, smash on motor cycles with metal mulisha,go racing at pomosa race way,we got like five lakes, tubing in the kern river, bash some heads in at the korn concerts, ice ring parks pittbull shows my the old magomerywords.may i say more.go do something with your life kc fuck the rest
My wife is from Bakersfield she has been living in Fontana CA with me for almost 8 years now, I like going there once in a while for a few days, other than that I would not live there IMO. I do however like to people watch, they seem so weird and different there, But I love the East side it is where she was raised.
I hate Bakersfield but am very nostolgic about it. I remember the Cue Ball and all those who hung there in the early 70s. lololol I wonder where all those crazy folks are. I drove a cab in 1979 too. LOLOL. Baker St. LOLOl 19th lolol Oildale............... I haven't been there in 31 years except for very brief times twice. Wish I could do ONE ORE tour of the city before I die, but that's not going to happen. Ah well..........
I go to Bakersfield College, butI know people that go there and I hear its a really good University. I think it's a good decision, but it really just comes down to how you feel about coming out here.
Well, it cools down nicely. On average, a night in the summer will get down to 75 degrees. In the winter, the coldest night might be around 35 degrees.
If you're in Bakersfield, you won't smell anything, but if you're from out of town, or even from Bakersfield, but coming back into town from a week long vacation, you'll smell all sorts of shit. Lol
Yes it is. This passed summer one of the hottest days was 109 degrees. I'd say the average day in Bakersfield in the summer is about 97 degrees. It's horrible.
Bakersfield. The most polluted city in the US.

Yeah, I agree the city sucks, but others might feel differently. I like the song, that's why I used it, so fuck your opinion. Lol

that's an appropriate song for cruising bakersfield because bakersfield sucks.
