you can tell kentucky was right to win the 2006 miss usa because she set the bar pretty high in the swimsuit competition. RI, Texas and D.C. didnt really stand out against kentucky so there scores were probably lower. and you can tell it the way they walk across the stage that they didnt look as confident as miss kentucky (or tara).

The walking around actually is a very small percentage it really doesn't make much of a difference. Also the reason they show the walk is to promote to the audience all the contestants. I know that when I was a contestant long time ago they picked the top ten and the top five according to the 5 judge interview.

The walking was just a show you were not really judged on it unless it came to a tie or les than 5 point difference, but you are judged on your beauty when you are with the judges they do ask you to walk and smile and pose.
