Dave also played a Gibson Trini Lopez before his signature model (the DG-335) came out. The DG-335 is based off the original Gibson Trini Lopez guitars (probably the1967s). Gibson offered to make Dave a signature model in 2006 if I'm correct, and he wanted his signature model as close to the Trini Lopez guitars he played as they could get. With some minor changes to theTrini Lopez guitar (barely any), Gibson began producing the DG-335 in 2007. That's some of history on Dave Grohl's guitars...
