The Vines performed terribly. leader singer from 3:50 - 3:57 shows that he either doesn't know what he sounds like or doesn't care about performing for the audience. The vines have a couple good songs, but don't try to convince yourself they were anything but terrible here live.

I think both bands cancel each other out here; On one hand, The Hives were really focused and had a lot of personality and charisma, but their song was bad and they needed some major guitar adjustments. On the other hand, The Vines had a really slick sound going on, but they were unfocused and lazy as they played. If the Hives had the sound and the song, they would've won. If The Vines had the personality and the charisma, THEY would have won. But then I realize it's not a competition at all.
The hives are jerks, kinda trying to be fun, but it feels ultimately artificial. Craig Nichols can't play alive for most of the time, he's simply too crazy for that, but Vines albums make up for this.

I think both bands cancel each other out here; On one hand, The Hives were really focused and had a lot of personality and charisma, but their song was bad and they needed some major guitar adjustments. On the other hand, The Vines had a really slick sound going on, but they were unfocused and lazy as they played. If the Hives had the sound and the song, they would've won. If The Vines had the personality and the charisma, THEY would have won. But then I realize it's not a competition at all.

The hives are jerks, kinda trying to be fun, but it feels ultimately artificial. Craig Nichols can't play alive for most of the time, he's simply too crazy for that, but Vines albums make up for this.
