That Wickham woman is wrong of course. Look at the people who support slaughtering horses, they're mainly livestock interests.

BTW, the American Quarter Horse Assn (AQHA) makes similar claims as Wickham yet their breeders continue to pump out horses (140,000 registered in 2008). The Quarter Horse is the breed most commonly sent to slaughter, and most of them are young (not old or infirm).

The truth is the AVMA and the AAEP took an Oath in office and have failed. They knew Mexico slaughter horses long before US plants shut down. They Knew Texas Plants operated illegal for years ignoring Tx laws. They knew they used double deckers to haul horses with mixed sexs,breeds,ages,sizes and even blind and crippled horses.
