  • I like the z script from what gohan said when Vegeta transformed.

  • thats dirty ohhh yea

  • uh this proves Vegeta has more Ki Power then Kakarot :P Kakarot just knows how to punch stuff and bite Changlings AKA Frieza's race.... also my CAPCHA to say this was Dicrots..........

  • never go full saiyan

  • no no no. without vegetas super sayian theme this is complete shit. kai took out epic scenes and music.

  • @likestoboard dude I like bruce faulconer music too, but the point of Kai was to make very close to the original jap version. I just saying dont hate Kai because of music

  • Cool english

  • Honestly in this fight they took out some of his best lines. "Never say DIE" for " Don't LET GO" real let down.

  • what kind of voice actor is this..

  • @PCSX1000 Christ Sabat.

  • @brbsz no....

  • @PCSX1000 You asked. I answered.

  • @PCSX1000 one of the best

  • DAMMIT THEY CHANGED ONE OF HIS MOST EPIC LINES

  • @TheLuckyShadow No, he isn't. At the begining of Dragon Ball Z he said he was five and a half. Gohan is anywhere from ten to eleven here. Still, his voice shouldn't be like that. So I see where you are coming from.

  • @DeathToYourGod10988 He was not five and half. The old english dubs of Z got that horribly wrong. He is 4 at the beginning of Z and five when the Saiyans arrive.

  • @ShaunInce123 Yeah, I forgot to add that part, my bad. He gave two ages, four and a half, and five and a half. I was focusing on the version I recently saw where he said he was five. Thanks for the correction though.

  • I don't get how people can even think of disliking this. Do you people not hear the perfect voice acting? The chilling scream? If they put music into this scene, it would've completely ruined the vibe. This scene is heaps better than Z's.

  • @iTzFrantiC shame most of us disagree.

There's three types of DBZ fans: the ones who think the Japanese language is everything (But don't know anything about it), the people who think the original anime was the best and the voice-acting was spot on (but refuse to accept any imitations or sequels), and the people who think the remake was the best and it removed all of the stupid crap (but still get picked on by those hardcore OGs who says the original orchestra/voice-acting was the best.

  • @iTzFrantiC that said, Falconer made these scenes awesome. The only time the music wasn't necessary was when Gohan transformed into a SSJ2. That was the one time I admit the original song fit it perfectly, with that woman's voice and the bird noises and the lack of dialogue from Gohan. It totally set the scene, minus my comprehension of who recorded it.

Z fans are going to argue FUNI/OCEAN/Falconer/Original/Sub/Dub forever. Everybody thinks their right.

  • Kai > Z - Only problem with Kai is Gohan's new voice and some of the music, and those aren't even close to being as horrid as Z, lol.

  • yamamoto is better at action music (even with the plagiarism) while faulconer is better at character themes. a combination would be beyond badass.

  • Simple, Bruce + Kai version of vegeta SSJ = badass

    It has been done!

  • You know, I must say that this is shit, they went for a more direct translation of the japanese script and to be honest when translated to english it just sounds wrong. Add to that that android 19 sounds like a woman, where as in the FUNI dub he sounded more like a robot and Gohan sounds like a little bitch and I just hate this entire thing.

  • @TheLuckyShadow Gohan is 6 years old... Honestly, who do you know has such a low-deep voice at such an age? Seriously. People need to shut the fuck up with Gohan's new VA. They only like the old one because they grew up with it. Learn to accept changes. Kai is suppose to follow the manga.

  • KIA is bullshit

  • Vegetas best line is .. Does a machine like yourself experience fear? ..and its not here

  • @brigadesFC9 are you deff he says it here too but in a more epic way. he says: "I'm curious are androids capable of feeling anything like real fear".

  • first time i watched this scene in Japanese Kai, i found the lack of music off-putting. Japanese and English versions of DBZ both had music for this scene. sound managers could have at least used the Destiny track. they've used it plenty of times before to intensify scenes.

  • There's suppose to be thunder and lightning just like how Goku and Bardock became Super Saiyan

  • If they really wanted to impress fans, they would've used Bruce Faulconer's music for this part with Vegeta having flashbacks from all the times he was bested in combat, possibly toss in a line he'd say towards the end to motivate himself, then transition to the theme Kai used here when he finally transforms.

  • Original Dialogue with Bruce Faulconer music would make the best DBZ ever ...

  • Far out is that Chris Sabat doing Vegeta here? His voice sounds no where near as good as it used to. I cringe when I hear Gohan's new voice too. Yuck, I couldn't watch this after watching Z.

  • @Budge007 Sabat's "new" vegeta voice is awesome. It sounds a lot like his Buu saga voice. Back in the Namek and early android saga he still sounded whiny and forced like he was trying to imatate Ocean vegeta.

Gohan's sounds like a whiny 5 year old now :(

    Guess what?

HE IS A WHINY 5 YEAR OLD.

    DEAL WITH IT.

  • @snakeisninja Gohan was a blood thirsty rapist in the Dragon Ball Z Cell games, now he sounds like a little girl. :<

  • You missed the best part of this scene the "I Am Pure, pure evil to the core Line

  • ok this plus Bruce's score pretty much fixes it, that I can tell from here.

  • Why r people talking bout VA's? Half of them r the same people with more experience.

  • @MrIcecubeboy smartest person here

  • I felt WAY MORE emotion in Kai than I did in Z. The script, music, and voice acting all went together so well. In the English dub of Z, I felt nothing from the scri[t and music, only from what was actually happening. I actually felt something when I watched the japanese version. I'm not intending to be rude but, I wonder how people can fill chills in their spines from the Falconer music. If you like the Falconer music, please explain this to me. There are tracks from BF that I like, but IDK.

  • @SSJProtecter The music made the filler fly by because it was cool and catchy. It made namek and random wasteland areas seem really erie and sureal. But once you watch a couple episodes in a row, it starts getting on your nerves fast. I'd rather have Kai voice acting than bruce music. But I DO love his music

  • Lip sync is sooo perfect in this

  • I freaking love Vegeta's voice

  • Shut the fuck up DBZ dick riders, this version is better :3 I like Bruce's score, but with it constantly playing it made the entire series feel like a fucking AMV.

  • @iTzFrantiC This sucks on all levels even the line about androids feeling fear sounded dead and uninspired. DBZ without the fillers would shit on kai any day

  • @eftultima Are you retarded? Obviously you are since you think the voice acting in DBZ is "superior"... Lmao. Kai's voice acting has MUCH more emotion to it, so what the fuck are you talking about.

  • @iTzFrantiC pshh. are you stupid. Vegeta's line in DBZ is much better than kais. shut up and enjoy your shit

  • @eftultima Okay? That's one line that's better in DBZ.. I agree that a few bits in DBZ are better than Kai's, but seriously.. Overall, Kai far surpasses DBZ's voice acting.

  • @eftultima Bullshit. The reason you think the Kai dub has no emotion compared to the Z dub is because the Kai dub doesn't elongeate random vowels like SAD FOR YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU! and grunt for minutes on end to show power.

They trash talk eachother and spit insults back and forth quickly instead of boasting for episodes.

  • @snakeisninja so you can honestly tell me that this scene is more epic than the DBZ version. Now thats bullshit. no wonder i never liked the jap dub or music for DBZ

  • @eftultima Is the Japanese music better than the dub music? NO WAY. Yamamoto's soundtrack was good, but the original japanese music kinda sucks.

Do I like DBZ voiced by the original japanese cast better than the dub cast? HELL NO. I don't speak japanese and I never liked Goku's weird ass japanese voice. I don't think I'll ever be comfertable hearing dying cat every time Goku opens his mouth.

BUT, the Kai dub is better than the Z dub.

BUT the voice acting in the Kai dub is better

  • @eftultima woops repeat at the end lol

  • @snakeisninja i guess we are at odds then, i rewatched every kai scene and then every DBZ scene to compare. i cant listen to the kai version anymore, original DBZ was just way too RAW and awsome

  • @eftultima You gotta at least agree that the old dub sucked until the android saga right?

  • they fucked up the music

kai just gets worse and worse

  • What's the difference between Kai and Z?

  • I basically want the Ocean dub, Funi dub, and Kai in separate boxsets. There's so many good elements to all of them, I just can't decide which I like best!

  • The voices are much more fluent which is why I prefer it to the original.

  • poor kids :( they wont know how the oroginal dbz was more epic than kai :( THEY WONT FEEL THE CHILLS!!

  • I believe the music can dominate the impression of almost any game, movie or TV show. That's why DBZ was so many times more exciting and poignant.

  • i know the music was plagiarized but dang it excites me more than the original!

  • lol, now I'll go watch the real thing.

  • I love Kai, I really do. In a lot of ways, I think it might be better than the original Z, but I have to agree with most of the comments here. The original FUNimation dub for this scene was a lot more epic with the Faulconer music.

  • gohan sounds like hes voiced by some chubby kid

  • @deityofanimee I do too hate when nostalgia clouds people's judgement. I also don't like Kai mainly because of the audio. The different music annoy me and I prefer some of the older lines. People have to remember that it is targeted at a newer generation. It's for kids after they come back from school. It is not for the old fans. That is why I didn't watch it most of it. The animation looks really nice though.

  • I hate how people let nostalgia cloud their judgment and decide that Kai is terrible. Rarity just made the whole thing cooler.

  • Fuck dis I love the original version better i cant get usto the voice acots

  • in my personal opinion even though is much better voice acted than Z this scene is completely lackluster. I mean no music at all WTF. When I first saw Vegeta Transform I got chills and the music Bruce Faulconer composed for that scene Made it 10x more epic. Now even though Kai is Much Superior to Z in voice acting. Bruce Faulconer's Music will always make Z seem 20% cooler to me. No offense Kai I love Chou Super Dragon Soul but Bruce made so many unique and fitting themes for each character

  • @jaxblade07 so true dude. Bruce Faulconer was GREAT. I love Kai and its music but sometimes it could use a little Fauconer :)

  • @jaxblade07

What about the whole Saiyan saga and the 1st half of the Namek saga that he never did?

  • @jaxblade07 remember kai sticks closely to the original japanese verison. even i hated kai during the vegeta's final flash. bruce faulconer made that part so epic on so many levels.

  • @jaxblade07 The voice acting in DBZ is much superior. you feel almost nothing when they speak in kai. thats mostly the reason why i even like the english dub of DBZ instead of the jap dub. Funimation just does it better

  • @jaxblade07 lol make sure 054martin doesn't see this or he'll go apeshit on you about how falconer(falconer as he calls him) missed the entire point of the music and the scenes and just screwed up everything haha

  • @jaxblade07 but gohans voice got worse....

  • @jaxblade07 Brony?

  • @tatertot5499 Eeyup

  • @jaxblade07 :D

  • This is so gay! Nothing Beats The original DBZ, I mean you cant just go and change the words from the original, gayyyy!

  • @KhaiNunn uhm the point is to change the words. Its a new dub. its not supposed to be like the original. Even though the original was awesome.

  • @KhaiNunn Who ever said the Dragon Ball Z dub was the original DBZ? As far as I can tell, this series has dialogue that more closely resembles the original script from the Japanese DBZ. If you don't like it, then simply just don't watch it, and just keep your opinion swayed towards the original DBZ dub.

  • @KhaiNunn but the Kai script more closely resembles the manga, so if you think about it this is more original

  • @KhaiNunn yes, let's follow every single word, every single voice, every single sound track, that would just defeat the purpose of kai. dumbass.

  • @lava172 first of all, I don't see much wrong with Kai tbh. Better to have most of a classic series from my generation shown to this generation then say, pokemon the eleventh season lol. But that is one of the most well known quotes in DBZ. Almost as much as, dare I say it "the balls are inert" or the other overused quote(younowutimsaiyan) - pun

  • this wasnt as epic as Z's version but seriously, it didnt have the like half hour long explanation or a bunch of filler, and so what if the SSJ theme didnt play? this fit perfectly for right after. and youve gotta be a hardcore NERD to miss a TINY quote like THAT.

  • When I saw how the script and voice acting were a lot better in the english Kai, I was so happy to see how it turned out. I'm planning on rewatching Kai in english soon.

  • there aint shit like the origional they need to scrap Kai now and bring back the old ones so kids nowdays can see the awesomeness of DBZ before they go bankrupt

  • @Finalbloodrain How does it not have anything on the original? Kai takes everything great about DBZ and made it better. What was so great about the original anyway? was it the bad voice acting, the murky animation, the laughable script, the terrible music, what? Or is it just the best because it came first?

  • @peterdapurplepimp well i suppose a dumb nigger wouldnt know the diffrence

  • @Finalbloodrain Nice to know the average IQ of a Z-tard

  • @peterdapurplepimp like I said lol another dumb nigger

  • @Finalbloodrain That's great

  • @peterdapurplepimp u mad bro?

  • @Finalbloodrain No not really. I just find this a little interesting.

  • blaaaaaah

  • Why are you guys even talking about OCEAN? This is funimation, you can like whatever you like but if you dont like funimation, then get off of the video. chill out with the BS.

  • @DBZOceanStudios dude seriously... If you dont like funimation then stay off the video. You claim to hate the Kai dub as well as funimation in general BUT you are still on this video. Make up your mind.

  • @SSJ3DarkGoku Actually i like funimation's dbz dub of eps 54-276 but my most favourite dub is the old ocean dub 1-53 and movies 1-3. That's all.

  • OK. What? Why have they changed all of the voices and edited the words!

    Grrr!

  • @JamoeMills The only voice that was changed was Gohan.

There is no words edited here. This is closer to the manga than the re-written dialogue that was in English DBZ 10 years ago.

  • @DBZOceanFanDub I must have watched another dub then, because the words were different along with the voices

  • @DBZOceanFanDub Also, the line I remember Gohan saying in this clip is: 'Looks like someone's joined the super saiyan club' - or something to that effect.

  • @DBZOceanFanDub Actually, alot of voices changed besides gohan. Frieza, Burter, Jeice, Zarbon, Guldo, Android 18, and i think dodoria, i'm not sure.

  • @Yashi294 And android 19 apparently XD

  • @Yashi294 I know, but for this scene Gohan was the only changed voice.

I'm pretty sure Android 19 has a different voice listening to it again now but it could just be a different take on the voice from the same actor.

  • does dbs kai just like to cut all the scenes like that

  • what happened to the original gohan voice actor?

  • @momentofOMG I think she got into an argument with a director and they fired her. IDK exactly but I personally prefer her as gohan

  • @momentofOMG She declined to come back to voice Gohan.

  • ..Ya know I still love Kai for its superior voice acting, and cut down of filler....but this scene just isn't the same without the Super Saiyan Vegeta theme, its dat piano it just set the entire mood that somebody is about to get ripped a new one courtesy of Vegeta

  • what does it matter. -_- to be honest ill prefer this since we dotn have to sit through the hours of one fight

  • Why did you skip out the best part of the scene?

  • *facepalm* at all the nostalgiatard comments below -_-

  • Yeah, seriously screwed up that line. Akin? Comon'. Vegeta isn't as dumb as Goku, but he also isn't one to say three words when one would work. He's to the point, period.

  • LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. how dare they fuck up the greatest line in dbz.

  • the violin at the end sounded cool

  • 40 people were afraid to see vegeta turn super saiyan

  • Echo was the best part, the rest, not so good.

  • I cannot speak english, I am just using a translator right now. This is really cool but I cannot understand it! I speak russian only.

  • gay

  • no music during one of DBZ most epic ssj transformation? KAI SUCK!

  • @TerasXertas Yes Ocean is shit and I wish "DBZOceanStudios" would stop hating Funimation all the damn time.

  • Fail! Dragonball Kai= PG Dragonball Z.

  • @RontheHybrid Funny kai has curse words and the charcters say there acutally going to kill the charcters instead of saying Im going to send you to otherworld.Well KAI uncut anyways.

  • @imaniscoolables By Kai uncut you mean the DVD releases.

  • @EndreVanan Yes and Kai on Dubbinz.com

  • imo i think it sounds better without the chessy music

  • They went from poorly acting to overacting...

"feeling anything akin to fear?" WTF?

Not to mention that damn Clickenbeard Gohan...

  • @TrailerrHikk 1. What the hell does "Clickenbeard" mean? 2. How are they overacting? A slight change to the line affects the voice actor's delivery? wat

  • @TrailerrHikk Couldn't agree more bro. This is why we need an Ocean dub of kai. Funi's voice cast is pathetic compared to Ocean's.

  • @DBZOceanStudios Are you fucking insane? Ocean dub is shit. ><

  • @TerasXertas Ocean dub 1-53 and movies 1-3 is the best English dub of DBZ. The orginal Funi dub of episodes 54-276 is good too. The japanese version is the best. The new Kai dub has exaggerated voice acting and the characters are trying too hard to sound intelligent. Funi will always fail at DBZ. Their company is shit.

  • @DBZOceanStudios Im sorry but in my opinion anyone who is a fan of the ocean dub is tone deaf.

  • @animefanatic900 You guys aren't used to the dub. That's all. You must have been introduced to the Funi dub first. I grew up with the 1996 Ocean dub.

  • @DBZOceanStudios The first dub I remember was the ocean dub. and I didn't like it. The voices just didn't sound natural. And to me the dialog was just awful. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose.

  • @animefanatic900 Nope. Its the funi dub that's awful. But to each his own

  • @DBZOceanStudios you have your opinion I have mine...ocean dub sucks. but both are better than the big green dub.

  • @Yabuturtle hey what do you mean by pointless fillers? There are so many fillers which were actually good in making the show complete.=)

  • @Ghuntu1 Yes but most in my opinion didn't add to the story but yes there are some interesting filler. But as you noticed the action is quicker in Kai, and they don't stare at each other or transform nearly as long as they used to so I like that. What were among the filler that you liked? :)

  • @Yabuturtle I hate as you said when they stare at each other for ages. But in particular i liked the last 5 episodes of dragon ball (fillers) and honestly it never felt like a filler! And those also made the story 'flow'. I can also remember a few great filler episodes in saiyan saga in which gohan befriends a robot and the one in which he meets a bunch of orphans. These episodes let you clearly see how gohan changed from a crybaby to a bold person. I guess you get the idea by what I mean.

  • @Ghuntu1 and not to forget that they let you take a good break from the main storyline. Goku's ordeal was a great episode and I am sure everyone who watched it loved it =)!

  • the pura-blooded saiyan hair of vegeta was brown?! 0.o!!!

  • Am I the only one a little mad that they slightly changed the best fucking line in the series?

"Tell me. Can a machine such as yourself experience fear?"

ENTER BADASS FUCKING SUPER VEGETA THEME, SHIT GETS FUCKED, ERRYBODY GETS RAPED.

  • @CyanMedic The reason they changed it is because this time their messing up the dialog WAAAAAAAAAAAAY less then they did the first time they dubbed the series this time their making it much closer to the original Japanese version .

  • @CyanMedic I'm not only mad, I'm pissed. Like WTF! The only good part about the version is the 3x yell echo. Totally agree with you

    !

  • @CyanMedic I thought the same thing. the Funimation scene sends chills through me every time. this was a little lame :/

  • @c4bb4g3 I know what you mean and I agree. =( It's also not the same without Bruce Faulconer's theme musics for each of the characters either.

  • @icehfox I hate it when Japanese fanboys claim that Faulconer's music is trash. I can understand different opinions, but his music always sent chills through me at certain scenes. the Japanese music sounds like it belongs in a cheap Godzilla movie, except for a select few scenes where it's actually good. I usually laugh at how cheesy it sounds.

  • @c4bb4g3 Japanese music was from the 1989 when DBZ started Kais sound tracked is improved and way modren unless thats not your talking about.I love Faulconer to but one thing I hated about him how he coundnt make a sad song in dbz when it was needed

  • @imaniscoolables Kai's is better than the original Japanese score, but I still prefer Faulconer's 9 times out of 10 (this scene in particular). I wish he could make more of a sad theme as well. What he did was appropriate, but way too safe. Just some minor chord progressions on a synth. Nothing memorable.

  • @c4bb4g3

    Fag.

  • @Santoryu87 :D

  • @CyanMedic I missed that line but if you listen vegeta technically said the same thing in a diffrent way.

  • @CyanMedic poor gohan...

  • @CyanMedic its the japanese dialog translated to english

  • @CyanMedic

What do you mean? He says the same thing here, just rephrased slightly.

  • @TheShockMaster you still cant compare it though

  • @Ir0neye

Agreed. I enjoy the Kai version so much more. At this point, Chris Sabat was doing *his* Vegeta voice, rather than the Z version, when he was still trying to imitate Brian Drummond, the Ocean voice (that's not an insult--he has said in many interviews that for a while he was purposefully trying to mimic Brian Drummond). So, with the better voice, better acting, and better music, the Kai scene takes the win for me.

  • @Ir0neye

    In my opinion, of course.

  • where the f**k is the music?

  • @Mrkti

    My thoughts exactly.

  • even the ocean soundtrack is better then this

  • @IMmaPicollo Which soundtrack are you referring to?

  • @TheWhiz93 the 80s style rush job

  • @IMmaPicollo The Megaman score is worse than Yamamoto's score imo.

  • @TheWhiz93 meh opinions, no point in arguing, you think that is better, i think that

  • My god this version sucks..

  • @RagingXela yup

  • android 19 voice is stupid.in fact dbz kai is stupid nothing beats original

  • Which dvd set has Bruce faulconer music? someone help me

  • @DarkSavageX

That would be the Remastered DVD set.
