  • Poor Hephaestion...-.-

  • He speak! Finally! **

  • Actually this movie is kinda long & a bit boring, but Bagoas make it up for me..he is the epitome of GORGEOUS!!!!!OMG!! I can't help but gasp....how can a man be so gorgeous???I'm jealous..lol.

  • why did alexander have sex with a servant but not with the man he loves?

  • No, Alex, don't! What about Hephaistion?! He looks kinda sad! Go and make him feel better!

  • i love Bagoas.

  • The look on Hephaestion's face is just heart breaking. Having to see the man he loves get infatuated, obviously, by a eunuch had to be hard.

  • Colin Farrell looks like he had a perm and set at the local ladies salon.

  • The bald guy is so creepy.

  • I don't even the whole ancient world.

Turns out warriors just loved to love everything that walks.

  • Very nice video:)

  • Beautiful video:)

  • why did the old eunuch tell all the other eunuchs to shoo except for bagoas when he saw alexander coming? lol

  • what's a eunuch?

  • @Eihposile A eunuch is a castrated man. In Bagoas' case he was castrated before puberty so he'd remain boyish for a long time.

  • @starryvelvetsky but i dont understnad whta is the of castrating him if he needs to be boyish he cant help the way he looks

  • Its weird all those pretty girls and Alexander goes for the Boy who looks like a girl?.. i mean.. why dont just take the girl then?.. i never quite understand that. I mean i know that he is Bi-sexual and all but it looks 2 me that he is more gay then straight. Because when he married roxxane this was not because he was in love with her it was because he needed a son. So i think Alexander is all out gay

  • @030terror You have to consider the time period. Women were largely considered a means to produce offspring. They didn't have as many rights as men, they weren't considered equals, and men probably weren't raised with the idea that a woman could be their friend. Under these circumstances it makes sense that a man would choose a male companion. A male would be someone you could hang out with under any circumstances. He could ride into battle with you just as easily as he could see a play with you

  • @030terror nobody knows the truth about alexander. its all speculation. But Homosexuality/Bisexuality was very common in anchient greek times. It is known that Alexander had wives and mistresses. So to call him gay is probably wrong.

  • @030terror u forget alexander was bi-sexual he liked both and at rthe time he just happen to be wanting a littel dick :))

  • How old are you, Bagoas? Eighteen? NINETEEN? (Raises a brow).

LOL Like nineteen would be too much.

  • "18, 19?"

Wait...I thought in the book Persian Boy, Bagoas was just a boy of 16 when he met Alexander. OMG, Alexander was a pedo....

  • @arescraft pedo? bagoas is 16 not 6!

Sorry for my bad english but i'm italian

  • @arescraft pedo? bagoas is 16 not 6! sorry for my bad english but i'm italian

  • @arescraft Some sources say Bagoas was 12 years old when Alexander met him.

  • Is hepahaestion jealous or just my imagination?

  • @blackcherrywoman not your imagination. but he was more jealous of roxanne than bagoas. because roxanne was the bigger threat to his relationship with alexander. was still jealous all the same, though.

  • can somebody tell me what they are saying? i m not english so i dont undestrand the words...thanks!!

  • Why the soldiers bundle Alexander at the end?

  • @DarkenedPsycho after he said that anyone wanting to go, could, the soldiers made a joke of it, and were *escaping*

  • Bagoas sounds like a Puerto Rican hairdresser.

  • @MrAnubis89 he is spanish

  • @MrAnubis89

    he is spanish

  • Dude how could anyone even look at bagoas when Hephaistion is in the room.

  • Alguien sabe como pasar estos videos a l español?

  • I think I'd much rather have the women there :)

  • @gamaolas

Persians used to bathe with little boys, according to their own homo-erotic poems.

  • Oh my god, thx for this little cut of the film. In my country its impossible take and watch the final cut of this movie. We have only the short film of 175 min, but now I can see the parts of Bagoas and listen the voice of Francisco Bosch. Thx very very much! :)

  • where you found this cut-scenes of the film?

  • OMG...I MELTED AT 0:06

  • I love this movie, I don´t know why, but I love it.

I hope I can see the complite movie some time.

  • I like this episode as it is an orginal dialogue from the film.

I hope that you shall upload all episodes from the fim- Final cut !

  • :( Poor Hephaestion.

  • Hey, that scene is missing in the german version!!!! Damn it!

  • Omfg, I wanna be there....up until the violence, that is.

  • When mentions abt language that it learnable, its meant to come across am fuckable lol. lmao. Its true!.

  • ;w; Fran you so gorgeous~~~~

I know people dissed this movie a lot...but I love it no matter what..LOVE NO MATTER WHAT. I don't know anything about history, any history, but I'd know a great movie when I see one; and this is it.

  • look at Parmenian the bastard lmao lol. Chatting up the boys! lol.

  • damn it's good to be king :]

  • Tell that to my persian Eunuch ancestors and check my vids

  • Your heroes were great men; but don't get hung up on the fact that Achilles/Patroculus and Hephaistion were lovers.....there's no shame in that.....be proud Greeks your heritage is great.

  • I thought the movie was fantastic.....I loved the relationship between Hephaistion and Alexander........and they loved each other in spite of all other entanglements.

  • What move is this from?

  • To papayacrazy:

This scene is from the movie "Alexander".

  • @papayacrazy Alexander. Made by Oliver Stone.

  • I like the movie no matter what critics have said about it. I think its somehow different from other historical movies like Gladiator or Troy. Btw does anyone know any good historical films that they prefer?

  • Thanks for your wonderful analogy.

  • I read the facts instead of believing these lies. I have no right to take the stand against your opinion and the things that you believe. But I know, Alexander never came to persia, even god agrees. . The ancient Greeks are widely known for their homosexual exploits. Many ordinary people are aware of Greek homosexual love poetry, the same-sex relations of Greek gods and heroes, and the homosexual relationship between Alexander the Great and Hephaestion was created by some gay writers as well.

  • Cleitus was sich a horndog, he was making out with some chick in the background lol.

  • nicely gelded?! OMG.... T_T

  • This is the first time i've heard Bagoas speak

  • omg. I just realized I may be a lesbian. I was like "what? all the honeys and u go for the eunuch? Damn, I'll take them!"

    Whatever. Not my choice.

  • Okiedokie!

  • Hey, I don't hold it against him. Bagoas is hot. :D

  • @tokyomop kinda weird... that what, because the guys pretty, u've just assumed he didn't have any testicleso_O' Weird reasoning there.

  • @Ackles4life Only eunuchs were allowed in the harems so none of the king's concubines could get impregnated by anyone other than the king himself. Eunuchs acted as the harem guards, as well as playthings themselves. If there's a male at all serving in there, it's guaranteed that he doesn't have testicles. :)

  • cool

  • hephaistion powa ^^!

but...I love at 0:35 when hephaistion want to go with alexander , and him go away for see bagoas :p (sorry for my english ^^)

  • what does the bald guy say in the beginning? i can't for the life of me understand him

bagoas is so adorable!!! i <3 him

  • firstly he goes 'pshwshwshwsh!' to all the people standing around Bagoas, but thats not really a word, then he says to Alexander 'Bagoas, Great King...' and then I believe he says 'very usable' but iak why he says it.

  • Bagoas is a concubine of the King of Persia, and became Alexander's after he was asked to be set free.

  • He says, "nicely gelded"

    Ouch.

  • He said "nicely gelded.."

  • He said - " nicely gelded, most succesful .." meaning the did a neat job of cutting him! Poor boy!

  • Hmm, I sense some hostility and jealousy at 1;41.

    :P

  • Yes, he loves Alexander, how can't he be jealous of him when he is speaking to this beatiful Persian boy? )

  • Alexander should've kissed Hepahestion.

    That would have been WOOOOW.

    <3

  • I always wondered what the heck Alexander wanted Ptolemy to do at 2:14, because he just stands there and does nothing.

  • Alexander, the most powerful man in the world was a gay! Micheleangelo was also gay. The founder of computer was also gay. Most famous men in the human history are gays. Homosexuality was accepted in every civilised cultures. Only Abrahamic Semitic religions couldn't understand the psychology of love between same sex & condemed homosexuality and even today in the modern world there are ignorant people who acustomed to Middle Eastern belief. Homosexality isn't a choise of life but life itself

  • Alexander wasn't homosexual. he was likely bisexual. This wasn't outside of cultural norm in the ancient Mediterranean.

  • is this scene a deleted one or just an extended?:S please tell cause i have partly seen tha original cut..plz...

  • It's an extended scene in the 3rd version released on DVD, "Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut".

  • @starryvelvetsky There are THREE versions of this DVD??? Fuck me!!! O.-O.

  • What 5 stars?!

This movie sucks!! Even that Star Wars Clone Wars 2008 piece of shit is better than this ... ... thing...

I don't know how to call it... it's just so bad that... ... I'm speechless

  • I posted only the Bagoas parts of the extended version for fellow Bagoas fans who might be interested in what was cut from the theatrical version. Bagoas fans gave my clip 5 stars. Not exactly surprising.

Likewise, there are people who enjoyed the movie. I am one of them. But it is nice to hear that your opinion overrides all.

  • Well, that's good enough, it's just I realy didn't like this moive at all, but in a way it's matter of taste, so it's ok like that.

  • why are people even mentioning arabs. there were no arabs as a recognised people back then. the empire of the east was the persians who are modern day iranians.

  • man all thouse hot women arround! and this guy chooses another guy!!

  • Not out of character for a bisexual man. *shrugs*

  • Souljacommander, meet the banhammer. Bye-bye now.

  • ConsciousClimax removed and banned for being an ass.

  • Bagoas was Persian, not Indian. Persia is now called Iran. He was Arab. There was no such thing as "gaity" (as you say to mean homosexuality)or "straightness" in antiquity. Eunuchs were a fact of life at the time and the ruling class had sex with anyone they wanted to, especially if that person was subservient to them. Please read a book - particularly "Alexander the Great" by Paul Cartledge - before you make unsubstantiated statements. Alexander was partial to men - it is an historical fact.

  • To be more correct, Bagoas was most likely a Zoroastrian Persian and not Arab, per se. But otherwise, yes you're right. :)

  • Yes, you are absolutely correct but since I was trying to explain the issue to the guy who made the ill-informed post, I wasn't going to split hairs. I just wanted him to understand what was actually going on.

  • Yup. I get that. :) I just banned the jerk who made the post for making a nasty homophobic followup, so both of our clarifications pretty much fell on deaf ears anyway.

  • He wasn't an arab. He was a pre-islamic Persian.

  • now it`s called iranian

  • This isn't India. The Harem was in Babylon (The Persian Empire). And Alexander was Macedonian, a culture distinct from, but strongly influenced by the Ancient Greeks. Both of these cultures were very open to homosexuality.

To be fair, later in the movie when they -were- in India, there was a culture clash between their way of life and the Indians, yes.

  • Removed and banned for being an ass.

  • T.T he's so beautiful....

  • omg its like a "fucking" paradise full of hot girls playing music and stuff!!!

and he chooses who? the eunuch! omg crazy times

  • Oh, I don't know... maybe he's attracted to the eunuch? Not out of the realm of possibility for a bisexual man, even. :P

  • @argonald Different strokes. :)

  • Sorry i dont understabd the scene is Alexander was a gay ??

  • Alexander was documented as bisexual. Which is of course, our modern term that wasn't used back then. His sexuality was typical for men of his time period.

  • Great scene, but I feel so bad for Hephaistian. Look at his expression! He's devastated inside. D:

  • What were the other generals at the end doing with Alexander, just like fucking around with him wrestling?

  • Yup. Just acting like teenage boys.

  • I love when Alexander yells for Ptolemy to 'administer this'. Then all he does is stand there.

  • this was a good movie but im very confused as to what a eunach really is and why they were such an important role in the Persian empire.

  • A eunuch is a male castrated before puberty so they are not fertile, nor do they fully sexually mature. They could then be trusted to oversee a harem full of women belonging to a nobleman and not get them pregnant. They were also often body slaves and trusted confidants, as Bagoas was to Alexander.

  • This was a great scene. That fat eunuch is a great character.

  • hephaistion looks pissed. almost like he's saying " bitch get away from my man"

  • one thing is certain... we greeks are superior from you barbarians... so the only thing you can do... is to make jokes for man that you never,or you will have in your history so take good look at men like... Alexandr the great Leonida Socrates Ippocrates Periklis and many others and stay with guys like bush...or blair... WE are the rulers and you are.... only our little pets... SEE YOU
  • I LOVE YOU GREEKS!!!

  • Another ban. There are ways to express you didn't care for the movie that doesn't insult GLBT folks.

  • You are banned. Good going.

  • Ok...I've listened to the dialogue several times now and just can't get what the chief eunuch is saying at approx 58 seconds (after "...great king." Will anyone please translate? :-)

  • In the book, "The Persian Boy" by Mary Renault, you can get a much more colorful look at Bagoas's life. I got it on Amazon for less 87 cents.

  • Love that book. :D

  • i'm a fan of alexander/jared but bagoas and alexander were so beautiful together too!

  • Jared Leto looks so cute..much cuteer than Bagoas..Jareds eyes waa(L)

  • What does the guy 'recomending' Bagoas say at 1.12? Sorry for being dumb, but I've replayed it again and again and can't make out the words.

  • It sounds like "Oh.. he's went well with the years," then went on to guess his age.

The guy recommending is a eunuch himself, and the older Bagoas gets, the more he would probably start to resemble him. Time has indeed been good to Bagoas so far. :)

  • I don't think the real Bagoas looked much like this actor.

  • What is known about Bagoas indicates that he was in his mid-teens when he was presented to Alexander, not so old as this actor. Having been totally emasculated prior to puberty, he would not have been so muscular either. Most likely he would have been somewhat taller and thinner than he would have been naturally and his facial features not so masculine.

  • I basically agree with you. Even if there was no ..... Bagoas would not have resembled F. Bosch that much, as he was said to be a lot younger. The same can be said about the actor, who played Farinelli.

  • I agree also, and further add that there was no need to cast Bagoas as being so feminine. Young boys are different from young girls. Even with the castration, he still could have retained a more butch air. By making Bagoas more feminine, the film's producers made it a bit safer for audiences to accept Alexander's homosexuality. Audiences could regard Bagoas as a 'girl' figure rather than the actual masculine boy that he was.

  • He sure didn't but in the movie he is fine as hell

  • It is so nice to once hear his sweet voice.

He seems so afraid in this scene to me. You almost feel sorry for him. He is so gorgeous!!!

    ;)

  • It is sad, that I didn't see this scene in the movie, scene, which shows Bagoas's character, his temper, his pride for his motherland, for his forefathers, which make you understand, that he wasn't slave without will, but was strong man, man with honour.

  • i love this scene!!!

  • I've been looking for this video clip like ages now xD and now FINALLY found it! hahahah thank you thank you SO much :D

  • Thank you so much!!! T^T

  • Hehe, i like it when he declared anyone who wished could be set free to join their families and his officers pretend to do a runner. Shows the informal Macedonian way of treating the king as a first among equals, unlike the persian way when the king was all high and mighty and more distant :)

  • what verson is this scene from and others when bagoas talks?is it from the revisted dvd?

  • my god, the most beloved movie to me :)

i love Alexander, i love Greece and i love History

  • This was a pretty boring movie.

  • I disagree. But thanks for the opinion.

  • You see I loved the third version of the film. I would have most certainly nominated it for best picture, it is truly rich with detail.

  • hahahaha borat!

  • ugh! i love this scence!

  • Most successful, that aprt always reminds me of BORAT!

  • Hephaestion is the most handsome man ALIVE!

  • Cassander was the hottest in the movie!

  • Come on guys, of course they were all jealous of each other. After all the three of them were vying to the heart of a single man. It's not easy for either one of them. Of course my favorite is Hephaestion. He has a right to feel sad. He grew up with Alexander and as per history was his first lover. Bagoas was smart but also very scheming. He caused a man to be sentenced to death because he disapproved of him and then killed the man himself while he was being led to the gallows.

  • You're mistaken about him killing the man (Orsines). The text says he slapped him as he was led to the gallows; there's no historical text that mention of Bagoas killing him with his own hands. Orsines was probably no angel, anyway. The account most people know of this story was written was a guy named Curtius, who was very homophobic and figured any "whore" would be, by nature, immoral.

  • Also, I should mention that Orsines' "innocence" is hotly debated. Aside from insulting Bagoas by calling him a whore in front of the whole court (which started the whole fray), a lot of people contend that Orsines likely raided the palace of goods during the time that Darius was ousted, and it was this (pointed out by Bagoas to Alexander) that resulted in his execution.

  • Bagoas was a loyal friend as well as a highly intelligent and knowledgable advisor to Alexander, and Alexander grew to rely upon him. Too bad Stone did not include that in the movie. Alexander as well as Bagoas was lucky that Bagoas survived his total emasculation.

  • bagoas

  • I hated this movie. How could Hephaestion be jealous of a slave, and then of a woman (roxane), in a male chauvinist culture like the Greek one? This reveals a great lack of culture. And Stone accused American people of this! Outrageous.

  • I believe Roxane was the one portrayed as jealous of Hephaestion in the movie, personally. And I didn't get any jealousy (at least in the movie) between Bagoas and Hephaestion either way.

The Persian Boy novel, however, had serious jealousy issues. Roxane jealous of Bagoas (tried to poison him), and Bagoas jealous of Hephaestion (constantly).

  • Well, you know, pay attention to Hephaestion's gaze troughout the movie, especially when he sees Alexander with Bagoas or Roxane... and in this very video...

  • I'm a Bagoas fan, I rarely, if ever pay attention to Hephaestion anyway. ;)

  • Hephaistion did not look happy.

  • Poor Phai...

  • gelded? Yikes

  • "Nice ???, majesty" - what does the fat eunuch say?

  • "Nicely gelded, your majesty."

  • Oh, ouch. Haha. Thank you :)

  • jared is sooo cute!

  • I LOVE Hephaistion/Jared Leto

  • beautifal scene the way Alex. looks at hm is price less
