  • Should the hdd be set to Master or Slave?

  • @WHfan I'll answer myself; Master worked fine.

  • it supports IDE lolz

  • What kind of format does is give the hdd when it formats it? Can you put files larger that 4gb on there? Like hd movies..

    Nice tutorial by the way!

  • How do you watch *mkv in your PS3?... you have to convert it first.

  • You can watch .mkv file's through your PS3 with PS3 Media Server. Look it up...

  • I can do all of that with my PS3, no need for Popcorn Hour. =)

  • are you gonna copy paste this into every vid about the Popcorn Hour? No need to be a PS3 fanboy.

  • No I'm not...although I have a Popcorn Hour myself, just giving people options.

  • DTS is OK of Popcorn?

  • I know this is lame as gets but I really dont know a lot of this stuff, so now we can put our HUGE HDD'S ? (The ones that need power chords such as 750GB 1 TB 1,5 TB ??) thnx

  • What you talking about? All HDD need power.

  • I think you're confusing internet and external HDD's, Yussuf.

  • Great work dude!:-D Helpful video.

  • A side note to the people that are wondering about installing a drive into an A110..

There is no "power adapter" or power needed. The A110 supports SATA connections and just slides in and pops up and running.

The rest of the video is good to watch if you want --- but couldn't be easier.

  • I don't like opening my Popcorn Hour. Makes me feel ripped off just seeing a little piece of circuitry in a $220 enclosure.

  • If you look inside most set top boxes it's mostly empty space. Once you put in a hard drive it doesn't look so bad. Part of the price is the frequent software updates available. The popcorn hour has continued to become more stable with additional features.

  • @LaSepultura

Remember the money you pay for the hardware also pays for the software to be developed these people dont make software for free :P

  • I recently ordered the Popcorn Hour A-110 and I didn't receive the power adapter for installing a hard drive. Do you know where I could find one that works with a SATA hard drive for the A-110?

  • I received mine yesterday...I bought a SATA HDD and when i was intalling the HDD I had the same question....where tha fuck is the power connection?....well...dont worry about it. just plug the HDD into the Popcorn motherboard...it provides both data transfer and power supply. SATA works differently than IDE

  • No DIVX? i saw on the specs its says xVid. Does it really not play divx? great video by the way - is it really that easy tok install your own HD! LOL great!

  • Divx works just fine. All my movies are in Divx.

  • hey thanks for the reply - can you plug and play a 2.5 self powered external HD through the USB. My 250GB drive is FAT32 and already full of files and folders, is it as simple as plug it in and browse or would it need formatting?

  • no build in wifi, but it supports wifi usb dongle

  • 4TB per partition with EXT3 filesystem

  • oops nevermind, you explained it

  • Is the disc already NTFS out of the packaging?

  • Do you have to format the disc before you install it?

  • You don't have to format the disk to put it in there. The popcorn hour will read whatever is on the disk just like a flash drive. If you want bittorrent, ftp and the other software you have to format it.

  • Can you format it using your computer and then put it in, or do you have to let it do the formatting?

  • nice
