Pardon my ignorance: so you start the main engine with another engine? What is the high-rev'd sound at the beginning of the video? Or are you using an air compressor to start the main engine?

@fiegenfiegen A pony motor is a small engine that turns the main engine and the pony motors exhaust pipe runs through the main engine intake manifold heating the air inside acting like a glow-plug. The high-rev'd sound you hear is from the pony motor.

The tires on the DW20 are 'big' but the tires on Cat's 651-, 657-, 660-, and 666- series scrapers are far bigger than those on the DW20. The Cat 651- and 657-series are still in production but, sadly, Cat discontinued the 660- and 666-series in 1979. In fact, Cat's 666B scraper was widely regarded as the 'best scraper ever made'. I would love to see videos of Cat's 666B scrapers at work. Still the DW20 is still an impressive 'oldie but goodie' scraper worth a good restoration.

The DW20 has a 10 speed transmission. High and low plus the 5 speed. They will top out at 40-45 mph on a near level highway. It is loosing power with all the exhaust leaks and I am replacing the turbo, manifold, and exhaust studs so it can go faster. I will make a video on that project very soon.
