so i have a morris hurricane guitar and and it is a copy guitar and omg there identacl like everything but the headstock it doesnt have a pionted but tiny bit more rounded edge i would love too get my hands on a reissue
were all of the strats from the 82-84 fullerton era reissues? or did some standard strats come out of the factory too? i'm trying to learn more, thanks!
@nuttymanyelismate hi....yeah you have to watch with strats cos there are lots of dogs around....i have a 50th deluxe 2004strat and fender japan strat 1989 both in lefty....not sure what those 57 fullertons are like but i would say like hens teeth for a pucka one....however ive heard nothing but good things about the 57 62 reissues...i bought my 50th deluxe from usa cos lefties are rare as anything...WATCH OUT FOR HIDDEN CHARGES...I.E CUSTOMS AND VAT CHARGES!! checkout my vids...tk
@nuttymanyelismate haha... very painfull!!! i shit myself when i went to pick it up from parcel force depot....pissed myself laughing at the woman who asked for £218 ....her face stayed straight i then realised she wasnt telling a joke...but hey when you set your eye on a nice strat and work your tits off to pay for it your willing to part....im looking for my next strat..probs gonna be a 57 or 62 reissue, but an earlier one....there was one on ebay in lefty, blonde...just didnt look right!!
@epimangood Ive had a chance to compare the 80s reissue with the vintage strats from the 50s and the head stock shapes are very out if you look at them side by side. They are awesome guitars but it is wierd considering how many people think they were made with the same templates.Any one else notice this???
Negative. The amp is actually a cheap ($250) solid state amp.
The depth of the tone is due to the wood. Every guitar sounds different - even if they are the same model (with the same pickups, hardware, etc...). It all has to do with the particular piece of wood, and this is a special one.
you are right ... its the special wood that makes the difference. my expierience is that if the wood looks interesting the tone will be interesting too :-) the wood has to stop his own growing process... and that takes time... and the special handcraft
Early 90s Fender Ultra Chorus; not to be confused with the "Ultimate Chorus". Its a 2x12 Solid State amp, and in my opinion, the best solid state ever made. These can be found for $250-350, and are good to bring to gigs in place of your expensive amp (In my case, my Mesa Boogie F-50).
I have a crafted in japan 57 reissue. Is there any sort of advantage to having 3 springs rather than 5? I'm heard there's less tension and the action is better with 3. I'm talking about the springs exposed on the back of the guitar, btw. I'm not too good with guitar terminology, sry.
If you have the proper string gauge to number of springs ration the action will be no better either way.
I use 10 gauge strings, so 3 springs is suitable. If i used 5 springs I wouldn't be able to use the trem system very well; it would almost be locked down. However, for people who do not use the trem system at all they may want it locked down for better tuning.
just got a near mint used 89' japan strat artic white with a floyd fitted and a dimarzio tone zone, $1000 oh and a maple neck 22 frets should be sweet
They are all great, but the sound differs from guitar to guitar. Each chunk of wood has different tonal qualities. In terms of monetary value, 1982-1984 are worth the most. After about 1987 they are all worth the same amount of money - you are looking at about $1200 used, as they are around 1600-1700 new.
O god that thing sounds so tasty *slurp* haha. Im thinking bout getting the 1950's style Fender Strat Classic, Skyblue with a maple neck. But idk if it is made in mexico or america, and this was on musicians friend, and it still didntsay. i was wondering if you agree that its mexican cus its price is 699. That seems a lil out of the country right?
Yeah, the guitar your are talking about is made in Mexico with American parts - so its really an American guitar. However, the sound of a guitar is so particular to that one guitar, not the type of guitar. So, you could order the guitar you are talking about and it could sound like shit, and you could order it again and it might sound great. It all has to do with the piece of wood. So, never buy over the internet.
What you should do is go to a music store, take a bunch of equal priced guitars (then you will know they all have comparable pickups) into the acoustic booth and see how they resonate unplugged. You want it to be LOUD.
Thank you! I like to think that I did a decent job setting it up. I've been experimenting with my guitars lately as I am a real cheap ass and hate paying to have my guitar set-up. After setting up a few of my guitars it got easy. There are many sites on the internet that help.
I hear ya bro! I've learnt how to set my guitar up from online tutorials! It's pretty simple once you figure it out! Once again, Sweet guitar dude! I'm jelouse! I have a squire strat, It sounds ok I guess! Your's is kick ass dude! I wish I had one!
Well, atleast you had a chance to own one. This guitar is the closest i will come to owning one. To put it into perspective, my dad was two in 1957; and by the time I was born these guitars already cost a fortune.
I have '57 reissue (002227-June '82) that I traded an American '52 Tele reissue for. I borrowed the guitar to do some studio work 4 yrs ago and have had it ever since. I have looked for another similar sounding Strat to keep a spare stage guitar, but alas have found nothing even close. Mine is a darker teal color. I've only recently found out why the guitar was so special, all handmade/shaped with quality parts. The nicest, basic-sounding Strat I have ever played. Cheers!
Yeah they are gorgeous. Based on your description I think the colour of your guitar is seafoam green. This is probably my favourite colour for Strats, well it is tied with coral pink.
Realy realy cool guitar dude . One of my friend have a fulerton 62ri and its a realy good guitar ... good finish electronic pickup neck and on your guitar the mapel neck with the nitro finishh its just crazy ....woow:P
Of course. This thing is the closest you can get to an original 1957 without buying one; closer than any custom shop reissue Fender has made. Nothing was spared when making this guitar, and that is why they are selling for 7 grand now.
1993 Fender Ultra Chorus (USA made)on the clean channel, with no effects through a piece of shit ancient mic straight into GarageBand. The amp is the best solid state amp you can buy!
thx... i got a valve marshall JVM combo 100w and it sounds great with the powerful and hot ceramic humbuckers of my gibson LP and im conssidering buying a strat- do you think marshall and a strat are good combination 'cause im afraid the marshall won't do justice to the legendery fender strat sound... and would you please tell me what do you think of telecasters and what about a strat with one humbucker at the bridge position and to singel coil pickups?
Don't get a strat with a humbucker in the bridge because then you cant achieve that "real strat tone" and you already have a guitar with a humbuckers, its not as if you dont. Marshall amps sound great with Strats, you'll just have to play with the EQ of the amp. I use a JVM combo at my jam space and it sounds really good with my strat. Teles are also great guitars but not as versatile as a strat; work on getting a strat first and then get a tele.
Yeah, I would have liked to have found this guitar in almost any colour other than black but they are super rare. Sometimes you just gotta take what you can get, and the good thing is, I've never heard one that sounds this nice. IMO
The amp is a 1993 Fender Ultra Chorus. It is, in my opinion, the best Solid State amp ever made. Part of the reason why it sounds so good is because it was hand wired in the States. Whereas now Fender are making their amps in Mexico and Asia.
Why the noodling? Sounds as if you are about to get going a couple of times and then you stop and drift back to the senseless arpeggios etc. C'mon, friend. Do your beautiful guitar some justice.
It's got a to-die-for tone. Would just like to hear more of it, I guess. You must be very proud. She's a beaut. I just picked up an 82 Fullerton '62 reissue. Probably the sweetest guitar in my collection.
I'll make you a deal; post a video of that 62re, and I'll post another video of this guitar probably to a backing track and I'll really rip into it. I'm buying a new amp tomorrow (either a Blues Junior, Blues Deluxe, or Handsome Devil, and I'll get those tubes screaming). I'm very interested in hearing your '62. I think if I had to pick one of the two (the 57 or 62) I'd go for the '62. However, it really has to do with the particular guitar.I've heard some 57's sounds like 62's and vice versa

tabulaerasae82 2 years ago
Hi T
Turned out it was an 86 and not an 82 fullerton. So i asked for my money back. Luckily i got it back.
Still looking for One in England, but there so scarce over here. So i might have to take a chance and buy one from the states.
Trouble with that is you don't get to try before you buy, so it could be sweet or it could be a real dog if you know what a mean.
Do you have one? Are they as good as i have heard?
Cheers.

Yeah been caught out by the customs and other charges on some diving gear i bought from usa a couple of years back, Painful.
I have an 88 telecaster which is sweet, but always wanted an earlyish strat. Trouble is, the older they are the price gets frightening.
An 82 reissue is right on the limit for me.
So i'll just keep looking.
Thx for the reply, just checking you're vids m8.
