Brother was big into them. This I think a serious contender for best Irish song ever. Why dont we hear songs like this anymore. Has gone very safe now.
I remember being frustrated back in '78 as a 13 year old kid into Punk I couldn't find any records from Radiators from Space, Subway Sect or Eater etc in my tiny hometown in Flanders. I was grateful for finding Ramones, Damned, Pistols etc but the less promoted bands where difficult/impossible to find. The world seemed larger back then and I was stuck here, old enough to "live" it but too young/isolated to really participate :-) Thanks for posting.
these saps got a beatin from Belfast proper punks The Outcasts for turning up at a gig in flares and changing into drainpipes just befire they got on stage!!
Would it not be better to put a positive comment on a Outcasts video than a negative one on this page. As for the comment, who really cares if we changed our trousers before a gig or not. The Radiators were never stereotypical or 'proper' punks who wore a uniform designed in London.
Jebus, but The Outcasts were easily offended! Who gives a flying what kind of shaggin' trousers they wore? The Radiators were a lot more than a "punk" band, which is probably why so many are still interested in their music years later. Who were the Outcasts again? An SLF cover band?

Great to see these guys. Until today, the only version of this song I had heard was by Seven Nations. Awesome to hear the original. Got a little bit of Boomtown Rats sound to them, eh? Listen to "Rat Trap" by those boys.
Always one of my favourite bands and the most underrated Irish band of that era. Remember seeing you live in the project on the tour after the release of the second album. Great concert. Saw you again a couple of days later in the Buttery Bar trininy. Only about 20 people there but a great concert, standing about 4 feet from the band. You made a jibe about Christy Moore when you introduced Faithful Departed in the Buttery Bar.
Finest moment in Irish contemporary music. Gets better and better... Not if you lived until you were a thousand Bono...

Simply one of the best songs written about what it was like to be Irish at the end of the 20th century. Inspired. Classic. Take a bow.

remebering back to those days there was a lot of frustrated youthful testosterone flying about and a lot of need to pose and belong to tribes

The original and the best.
Nobody ever wrote songs like Philip Chevron in Ireland and probably never will.
You guys should be playing world stadium tours, not U2!
A great shame the Radiators never reached a wider audience!

i remember my clapping echoeing in the stadium.
my god,the stuiped bastard fans only were enthuasiastic about fucking snow patrol.
stuiped modern trendy shit all over the radio with plastic 'music fans'.
again,it WAS a u2 concert,but still.
the radiators OWN snow patrol and the teenage d4s and btw this song is great!
sorry,is just what is wrong with this world?
