Yes, this describes my first relationship. He cheated on me, lied to me, abused me, used me...Well, everything that Judy says in this song! I agree with tippersnoop that the simplicity of the words in this song totally capture the extreme excitement and independence you feel when you get out of that and realize that you can "take back your life." I get tears every time I hear it and can't help but sing along!

it's almost at the end of the show. Basically this character Judy had been left by her husband for his secretary, and she dealt with it and moved on with her life. then her husband shows up after being dumped by his secretary, and tries to get Judy back, and she throws him out. this isn't the whole song, just the last part.

Stephanie absolutely deserved to get a Tony nomination. She is out there on the stage, singing her heart out, and she get passed on for Allison Janney?! Stephanie is without a doubt, the most talented person on that stage! The audience gives a much bigger roar of applause to Stephanie than Allison. I totally agree with you haha. Fun shows are great, but we have to be practical. A show about women who trap their boss and take over the company versus a musical about a suburban family dealing wwith sever depression and bipolar disorder. Which is going to win? I love both shows, but one of them has a much better shot at big awards.

In the beginning she doesn't seem to be completely certain or completely committed to what shes saying, but you can see the moment when she realizes what shes saying and the power those words have for her new life. I saw Steph 5 times in "Wicked" on Broadway, including her last show. She is the most phenominal actress/singer I've ever seen. She can put goosebumps on your arms and tears in your eyes. This is 9 to 5's "Defying Gravity". Stephanie sings it almost the same way. The only thing missing is the bridge at the end - besides that she might as well be in the air with her broom! The notes at the very end sound virtually identical. I love it.

agreed, sort of. The music builds with each chorus, subtly, up a note. You don't notice it til the end when she belts it out. Defying Gravity doesn't do that. And this is also the 11 o'clock number.
