@Hirameki Yes, they gave them very silly country accents that you find in the Southern part of the U.S. They also gave the Seed Destiny Doms similar accents, which are even sillier since they don't match their characters.
Most of the U.S. fans watch with the original Japanese audio and subtitles because of it.
We have many people in the U.S. who put out their own translations for the shows Bandai has yet to release here, so we have access to all of the other shows.
But yes, UC is much better than the newer shows. I have Tomino's autograph from when he was in New York last year.
@Revuhlooshun Nah, I'd rather watch it like this. It's a lot like the dub for G Gundam, the English is so bad that it's good. Characters are far more memorable when they have qualities in their voices that separate them from the rest of the cast, the Tri-Stars have far and away the most unique voices and I remember them better because of that.
I also find the Tri-Stars voices rather hilarious considering I'm from the South, even though I don't know anyone who sounds remotely like that

Did not watch SEED yet...I'm UC fan lol.
In most of case, I don't have a problem with English dubs.
U.S. actors are doing a great job in anime since year 2000 IMHO.
That's just Ortega's voice made me surprise.
