@shadowdiver1 I'm not sure who Mike is. The only thing I sent my receivers out for is engraving. The video where I riveted that trigger guard in place is on here as well. I don't bend my own from flats, I buy nodak spud receivers. I've thought about bending from flats, but honestly I didn't like the way the tool amortized when you factored in the cost of the flat. If the receivers become hard to get or I get a kit that I absolutely can't find a receiver for I'll consider rolling my own.
@shadowdiver1 Also, now that I look at it, this reciever is an older Armory USA receiver that I bought from ohio rapid fire. For some reason the ones that ORF had sold were all parked, which is why it looks grey.
Thanks for the sweet videos. I actually broke my leg just prior to building my first AK, so I've been at home studying the full tutorial. I don't think there's any question left unanswered.
I agree with BuildyourownAK. If you have no idea what he is doing, do not attempt. These are his videos and are shot his own way. If you do not like them, build your own. If you have a serious question, feel free to email him directly. Attacking his videos will get you no where. Do a little research first.

not a very good training video. You could have explained what type of machine is necessary to do the job. What tools are needed? You're supposed to talk to the least common denominator. Act as if everyone knows nuthin. Otherwise I would know how to press trunnion rivets
Wow, thanks. If you watch the videos in succession you'd have heard where I explained this. If you can't tell that this is a hydraulic press, you probably shouldn't be building guns in the first place.
This is a free video showing those that are familiar with this sort of thing a different way to do it. You want a training video shell out some cash; then you have the right to complain. From what you have said so far; it's not a stretch to assume this is not a channel for you. Move on.
Or, he watches a sweet video on how to heat treat at home...

Did you heat treat before you did the dimples for the swell neck rivets?
mnicholas1977 1 month ago
@mnicholas1977 Was already heat treated. The receiver will dimple easily even after it's heat treated (at least the NDS and AUSA receivers do).
