Any vet will tell you not to give bones to domestic dogs, especially chicken bones....your dog looks healthy and happy...so....but, I do not give raw meat or bones to my dog. I've seen dog choke and die in front of me. Why take a chance.
Ummm...just a question for you. Do you wash the towel after each meal? It looks really dirty. Perhaps those blood stains are just tough to remove when washed.
I've been feeding cornish game hens and quail to my dog for about 10 years. I would highly recommend trimming all visible fat. Game hens are young and don't have nearly the fat of full sized chickens but this is where indigestible substances and toxins are stored on the animal's body. My dog had ear inflammation and periodically vomited bile until I started cutting back on his fat consumption. Jfyi. Thanks for educating people about raw feeding.
bones are dangerous to dogs only if they're cooked. of course there are risks with raw bones too, but f.example chicken bones are really soft when not cooked. and most dogs just love those :D
@bayislove You can switch between the two, but I wouldn't really feed both in the same meal. Make sure you don't upset your dog's stomach as well.
Re. the veggies, some people choose to feed up to 10-15% veggies- if you do feed veggies, make sure to fully cook them or grind/mince them up so that it's easier to digest. Whole veggies won't really do you any good- they'll just come out the same way they went in!
It can actually end up being similar to the price of kibble (or even cheaper). The key is to find meat on sale and not go overboard with exotic meat. We usually stick with things like turkey, chicken, beef, pork, and sometimes lamb/rabbit/venison.
I love your corgi! I've got a tri-color as well.

Aren't those bones dangerous to dogs and splinter and get lodged in their intestines?

I love their expressions, mine had her first raw drumstick today and the expression on her face while cracking the bone was like nirvana...

I've tried going raw, but my dog won't eat raw meat. He'll eat it if it's cooked, but not raw. Go figure.

Every meal of that dog's life must be heaven. But isn't feeding that much meat to a dog pretty expensive?

How's the dog's breath?
galussp 2 years ago
Fresh as a daisy. Seriously- I never have to brush her teeth, and her breath isn't stinky at all!
WinnietheCorgi 2 years ago
My doberman is on raw and has no odor to her breath at all. In contrast when she was on kibble it reeked. Her teeth are always sparkly white too
