I went to this church as a child of 5-6-7. I'm not even a Christian anymore, but I haven't seen it since probably 1961, and you have presented it perfectly here. Thank you
erm i really feel the need to tell u this...this is NOT the 4 weddings & a funeral poem (yes, ok, it was used for the film)...its a W.H. Auden poem called Funeral Blues...please...
Thanks, but I DID know.I took The pictures in Old Hunstanton Church, hence the listing Hunstanton FUNERAL BLUES.I merely mentioned it was used in the film.
really? Just checked wikipedia (font of all knowledge, obviously...)and apparently although it was included in Auden's book Another Time as one of four poems headed "Four Cabaret Songs for Miss Hedli Anderson", it was called "Funeral Blues" in that, which was the only name Auden ever gave it.
@GeorgieGirl1234 really? I read it off an anthology of Auden's poetry and just said "Song #9"...the name doesn't matter, just that these are powerful and amazing words--words that are worthy of my father, who committed suicide last June 15, 2010----and everyday, I miss and cry out my heart for him...
Beautiful, thanks for this , used it with my class of 2nd language speakinglearners lst night, at leasst they now know who WH Auden was, culture rules!!

Thank you.
I used my local church as it seemed an appropriate setting for Audens' poem, but I'm pleased you enjoyed the "nostalgia trip"as well.

The poem is not called "Funeral Blues." It's part one of W.H. Auden's "Two Poems for Hedli Anderson."
