I've heard this lovely story before in a sermon by a Christian. It was used as an analogy for our possessions and how we think things "belong" to us, but in the end we are forced to face the stark fact that we in fact "own" NOTHING and all is but a gift of God, who shares with us gladly.
im generally in a bad state of mind so finding these talks is great i also like the way he does the deep theoretical bit then changes it over to a real story that we can relate to
unfortunately i am located in germany. i would love to visit the dhammlokacenter, if i just could. i really enjoy the talks. they´re really inspiring. i have a request´, though. could some of the monks do a talk on anatta?i did not get the point. when there is no self, who is speaking?

Interesting how well it works here as well...

I love Ajahn Brahm's talks, but these talks are great too because they offer something liek a deeper insight, something theoretical if you will

Thank you so much for sharing these dhamma talks. You are doing a very noble thing and will surely accumulate a great deal of good karma.

Wow, there are 40 of these talks. You can watch 1 each day and just keep going in a cycle. Thanks.

No one. The speaking just results from manifold mental conditions i imagine. You probably don't have any control over what you say at all!
Ajahn Brahm has done some great talks on the concept of anatta. Look at the buddhist society of western australia website for the podcasts

Thank you hairy for the advice. I am beginning to fully understand and internalize the concept of anatta. Sabbe satta sukhi hontu!
