  • Actually, for a decent PC Built from scratch only costs 678$ I made my own.

All of the parts come from either newegg or Tiger Direct.

500gb 7200rpm hardrive 56$ 4gb of ram 115$ 9800 GTX 100$ dvdrw drive 27$ Motherboard 90$ Intel i5-661 3.33ghz dualcore 4mb L3 cache the case 40$ power supply 50$ all of it 678$ + Tax. Add a monitor for about 150$ more. However, i use my 42 inch 1080p tv which looks insanely badass. Anyways, this comment was to the assholes who sad you can't make a cheap gaming pc

  • lol when you tryed bootin it i thought it was gonna be an epic fail

  • Hey man, I'm probably going to get one for my post secondary education, what should I get because I'm probably doing digital photography @ Emily Carr Institute and want to get your opinion.

  • Hey, u should watch my video about this subject,

Why should i pay more for a mac ? U can get better specs + screen size for that prize

  • #1 - you cannot get better specs (warranty, ram, ect) for that price.

#2 - if you can, the viral protection and basic programs (imovie equivalant, iphoto equivalant, ect) will eceed 1500.

    just sayin'

  • me and my friends band are going to start recording our music, i dont know if you have tried it or if you can check it out for me but, i know macs have a program called garage band pre downloaded on them and i need a computer thats good for that kinda stuff, so if you could check it out for me i would be very greatfull

  • Mac's are neat but PC is alot cheaper for playing games.

  • wrong, a good pc with an nvida8800chip and 2gb of ddr3 ram is maybe 1200$

i can get a macbook with nvidia9600gt and up to 4ghb of ddr4 ram for 1300$

macs give you more bang for your buck

  • @MatBookPro93 dont forget the os. windows is shit compared to osx.

  • Wow. When I got my MacBook, I screamed with excitement for the whole time. How did you control yourself so well? LOL

  • yep, i pretty much got that excitement out in the apple store and the ride home... by the time i had the camera up and running i knew the macbook was finally mine and everything was going to be ok :)

  • @MatBookPro93 I controlled myself pretty well, but my parents knew my excitement with my Macbook Pro.

  • Hey im planning to do an unboxing vid next week when i get it

  • just a little tip. i dont know if u edited the sound in on imovie or was just playing in the background. but ti should have been cut at the bootup movie intro. so anyways. how did u afford $1300?

  • nah, youtube pics that up and they would mute the audio like in my new years video,

    but the 1300$

i got 650$ in the fall from my soccer clinic job,

my parents loaned me 650$ for christmas, and im going to pay them back in the spring and buy an xbox 360 with the 800$ i plan to make.

  • ...thanks for the comment on the first one....

    >:(

but yeah, i get about 4hrs

  • battery life is all relative to what you are doing it normal use ie. websurfing word processing some video watching at mid brightness and low sound should get around 4-5

  • i know! i LOVE it, what you gotta do is get a macbook and at home use a 24" moniter.

i LOVE my setup, im in my living room right now watching comedy central and going around on youtube, with:

firefox, mail, colloqoy, skype, ichat, iphoto, itunes (playing kanyewest), itunes, imovie, ishowu, and gettube.

    NO LAG

and only 757MB of ram in use and 1025MB free.

    epic win

  • beautiful laptop =]

that kingmicrobitch4ever guy is quite the cocksucker huh?

    lol

  • Nice laptop but slightly overpriced (it's the baseline $1,300 one, right?).

  • i dont get it why people say this notebook is overpriced if it has damn good specs lol

  • Carloz800: "damn good specs"...what? Those are specs I would actually consider "medium" and any Dell, HP, etc, laptop with similar specs would set you back $800-$900. 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo is pretty standard. 2Gb of DDR3 memory is something I truly don't understand. They have slightly better performance at the expense of slightly higher latency. A very insignificant performance boost. 160gb harddrive? Relatively small. 9400M integrated? OK for watching DVD's, BluRay (oh sorry, Macs cant do that)

  • actually i might get one for chrismas then upgrade it to 4 gigs of ddr3 cheap like 60 bucks

and the hard drive to 320gb that costs around 120$ at amazon , and i dont like dells because i used to have one and the support sucks

about the ram is that vista requires alot of ram and the apple os doesnt.

well, we can buy external blu-ray players for macs but why would i wanna watch a movie on a laptop if i can watch it on a ps3 and a hd plasma

  • i didnt mention that is LED backlit, glossy display, HUGE trackpad than any pc laptop out there, and its very thin even though it has a uni-body, (plus backlit keyboard) :)

  • And all these things improve performance how? All mostly cosmetic improvements that, although nice, add unnecessary costs.

Another misconception (and if you weren't basing your words on hearsay) is that Vista requires "a lot of ram". No it doesn't. This has already been proven. All PC's nowadays come with enough RAM to run circles around Vista. Also, $1300 + $60 + $120. That's already $1480. Enough said.

  • thats cheaper than this black macbook i have that costed 1.5k and it came with 2gigs ddr2 and a 250gig hdd

  • "i didnt mention that is LED backlit" unnecessary "glossy display," ugh that is not a positive glossy affects visibility. "HUGE trackpad than any pc laptop out there," Also not a positive it doesn't even have click buttons. I would rather use a wireless mouse with a laptop anyway. "and its very thin even though it has a uni-body, (plus backlit keyboard) :)" OK that is nice but that just makes thing even more cramped which can cause overheating. I like OS X but not a mac fan. Getting one though.

  • It's not that Mac's are overpriced. They're just better so they should cost more. It's like someone who just bought a Toyota Corolla saying to someone who just bought a Corvette, "Wow, you paid, $40,000 for a car? That thing is really overpriced." Same concept. You get what you pay for.

  • The comparison would be valid if a Corolla used the same parts as a Corvette. I know you'd like to think that Macs have better hardware, but time and time again it's been demonstrated that it's the exact same hardware used in PC's. Of any kind.

If you want to pay $1,300 just for OS X then be my guest.

It's also kind of funny that at the smallest sign of anyone bad-mouthing Apple (I wasn't really, just making an observation based on specs), Mac owners charge to Apple's rescue.

  • ok the lower spec mac than a higher spec pc

hmmm, i seen a 5.2 vista rating on the aluminum macbook (you can see for yourself watch?v=WsMi17u0rfc)

  • Rofl, Vista Rating? One of my $900 desktops has 5.9 throughout. The Vista Rating is a ridiculous way of comparing computers, because a $900 PC will can match the rating of a $5,000 PC (max being 5.9 in Vista). Try again.

  • we are talkin about notebooks, not desktops

    try again

  • Way to completely ignore the point.

  • mr. troll trolling, let me ask you this: find me: 1) a laptop at or under 5 pounds 2) with a large (3x2.5in at least) trackpad 3) 2.0webcam + mic + speakers (NOT shitty) 4) media (super) drive 5) at least 150GB (5400rpm) 6) at least 9400M, + 13.3in widescreen 7) and ill give you a little leniency, you can or can not have LEDs 8) also with 2gb of ddr3 9)and most importantly, the FULLY FEATURED version of windows. not some home basic shit. 10) all this must be less than at least 1300$ good luck
  • Obviously out of my head I can't think of any laptop that matches those specifications to the dot, and I sure as hell won't waste my time looking through the dozens of laptop manufacturers to find one. Call me a cop-out. I'm sure if I asked you to find a match with 10 criteria you'd be GLAD to do it, wouldn't you? Didn't think so.

Besides, I have no interest in laptops. You should actually be looking for the equivalent PC here, not me.

  • i would

  • Not to mention the 45nm processor and 1066MHz front side bus. All these dummies just say "hurr durr My computer is 2.8GHz so it's bettar." Not necessarily. Bus speed makes a sizable difference, too.

  • What you said is really dumb not at any point where you close to a rational thought. "They're just better so they should cost more" Says who? OS X is better not mac hardware. And OS X costs less than vista. So we are paying for the hardware that is average but is cosmetically appealing but on terms of performance and quality is average. In the middle sort to speak. They're just better? Wow fanboys reveal themselves when they speak. Geez

  • Ok, maybe I got a little carried away, I'll give you that. But saying "You get what you pay for" is a very rational thought and I personally feel that way. I paid less for my PC's than I did my Mac but I got less quality and performance out of them. So rationally speaking, "I got what I paid for."

  • OK true you do get what you pay for, but that doesn't say that Apple doesn't get a little carried away with their pricing sometimes. And yea if you don't get your PC from the right place you will come out feeling slighted. And yes the problem with most PC's are windows, but there is a cure it's called linux lol.

  • Apple cinema displays are freakin crazy expensive compared to others. I have a 22' LG widescreen monitor that cost $240. A 20' Apple display is $600 and a 30' is $1800. Do you know what kind of flat panel TV you could get for $1800? A freakin HUGE one. Those things are way overpriced if you ask me. But don't tell anybody I said that. lol

  • OK I won't yea for 1800 I can get somewhere around 46-50 inches. Nice talking to ya.

  • Good to see you got one, im still saving for an iMac.

  • id like to see your cheap walmart budget pc that CANT run crysis you fuckin useless nuub

  • I'm sure he'll do that about the time you stop breast feeding.
