You know, suffocation/drowning's apparantly one of the better ways to die. No idea why, but people who've gone through it say it wasn't really very painful.

That's odd, I always hear it's one of the worst, since it's not JUST suffocation when you drown. It's suffocation, falling (your body suddenly becomes less buoyant as water fills your body), crushing if you're deep enough, fluid filling your lungs and, if you were swimming, exhaustion.

That text wasn't random philosophy at all. It was trying to explain why the level was autoscrolling (Mario can't stand the water pressure and wants to get out) and why it stopped (Calling it a weird impulse)

The thing about this romhack, I get a lot of feelings of lifelessness. It's like these levels aren't alive. If that makes sense.

It's almost as if they're saying "alright get ready here comes a jump challenge" "alright here comes the next" over and over without it being organic at all.

It kind of reminds me of carol's idea of level design.

As a writer, I respect RttC for trying to tell a story, but I feel that the execution is flawed. Since the hack is relatively non-linear, it hinders the ability to have a story, and even in the first video you said it's called Rise to the Challenge because it's mostly just meant to be a series of challenges, but it seems like he's trying to have a plot with it too. Imagine reading a book with the chapters out of order, but not written with that in mind.

Also the story bits kinda suck.
