Also Revelations is said to come to John I believe he was after Jesus had died, which would make John a prophet given if you believe Jesus is god and anyone who speaks to god is quote unquote a prophet. If you believe John was a prophet the same as you would have to believe the same for Paul, then you would have to judge him by his works as Jesus had said.
However a difficulty has arisen as John of Patmos (now identified as) and John the Evangelist by their works are two separate people.
