  • you know i gotta try that on my brothers now right XD

  • @Condemnedya haha you re a bad bigger brother, shame on you ....

hmmm thinking , but you know what ? it sounds like a great idea :p

  • @shoulung Training is different. A martial that balances itself between kicking and punching will always look similar. As Bruce Lee once said - "Before I studied the art, a punch was just like a punch, a kick just like a kick. After I studied the art, a punch is no longer a punch, a kick is no longer a kick. Now that I understand the art, a punch is just like a punch, a kick is just like a kick." The only thing that seperates the two arts is the takedowns and street fight elements.

  • WTF!!! He's just standing there cathing a side kick to the torso without moving away from the strong point of strike! Best way to cath your opponent's leg.......and get your ribs broken!!! :)

  • Try catching Bruce Lee's kick

  • @narutofan9tf

I agree with you, but have you tried to catch anyone's kick? It is not so complicated... ;)

  • @YMthefirst

It is if he/she is targeting the head

  • @narutofan9tf

If he/she is targeting the head you only have to kick him/her to the rear leg (on which he/she stands) and if you kick hard you will destabilize him/her. ;)

And for record most kicks are to the body...

Believe me or not it is your choice...

    Cheers :)

  • @YMthefirst

    good point

  • @narutofan9tf

    Thank you

  • all martial arts originates from chinese kung fu, and sanda kung fu is no exception, it takes many techniques from various of kung fu styles and merge into one suitable for the military. (i hope some of your ignorant youtubers realise that many Chinese kung fu has round house kick, upper cut, hook, jab, cross, elbows and knees and because you dont know, you are misled to think this is muay thai)

  • @BerserkN00b

    I AGREE WITH YOU!!!

...Mostly , but every part of the world have their martial art like my country, or somebody else's...

You can't say that savate is evolution of kung fu - or you think so?!

Even Bruce Lee have said we will have new martial arts when someone would have had 4 arms and 3 legs or so... You can't say that sambo is evolution of kung fu...

But in USA and Western Europe and so everything comes from the East.

  • muay thai has no throws or take downs sanda does i beleive

  • @ThePtno1 thai clinch

  • same shit that muaythai does./

  • @Taywarit13 muay thai has no throws asshole

  • i did that, and knocked someone out lol

  • Isnt this just muay thai?

  • sanda is a competitive form of Kung fu. Its like advanced kick boxing. Wha is the difference between sanda and Muay thai principle wise. ARe there elbows and knees allowed in sanda? Do they follow through with each strike like in muay thai, or is sanda like certain types of karate, where u strike and pull back

  • 0:25 is not a good example... the guy in red trunks would get knocked out if he traps the leg with both arms..

  • @findmeifyoucan things are different in slow motion. if you have time to reaction.

  • I think Sanda will be the new influence in the UFC very soon.

Cung Le is the reason. I think it has more to offer than other kick boxing styles. Now, mix this with wrestling and solid boxing and you will have a great career.

  • san shou / sanda is a great transition into mma. you have good striking and good takedowns. most cookie cutter mma fighters are to stubborn to realize it

  • U can complete with a punch in the chest!

  • sanda throuh/smash to the ground looks painful!

  • Ah he demonstrated it wrong, you catch like that only if the kick hits your thigh. Bending your knees, the kick slides up to your hip, then you grab the leg. You dont catch the kick if its going to slam into your ribcage like that.

  • gung fu the start of all martail arts :)

    gonna try this

  • CameronNightingale,

What do you mean by "Finally learn a takedown?"

The move show here is right out of the ancient Shaolin Kung Fu styles, and seen in many old traditional Shaolin forms. It's nothing new. Kung Fu players have been doing this for thousands of years.

Where have you been that it is new to you?

  • Oh, and another thing, they don't grab, NOT because of the glove, but because in ancient times this was used on the battle field, and they would have had a weapon in thier hand. The opponent did not just get taken down, they were also carved up like a a holiday ham as they fell.

  • Plus you can hurt your fingers, its better to use a block style catch with your forarms rather then try and grab a kick that can easily break your fingers. Yeah, back in the day, Shuai Jiao was used on the battle field, thats something people dont really know... They say Sanda is new... LOL The techniques of Sanda (especially the grappling) go back 5000 years lol Shuai Jiao wrestling is to record 5000 years old, people dont know stuff, yet they knock kung fu...

  • I see, so 5000 years old, and people use it in the battlefield. Imagine people throwing each other and kicking the ankles while the others got their weapons, what a sight. But that was true tho. Even Ju-Jitsu and Karate is developed from Chinese Martial Arts.

  • There is techniques that you can use with your weapon, if you have a spear, you can still kick, and if the moment calls for it, why wouldent you... Throwing people is a excellent technique, if you end up on the ground in a battle, your probably gonna die... So when it gets to close for your weapons, these throws would be very nice to know... Many of these techniques go very far back, weather they had a sword or not, if you know how to kick, that is considered a weapon in itself.

  • Blocking a shin being whipped at a 180 degree angle with the hip, using your forearm? I don't think so. This move can be well adapted for street fighting, by twisting your torso into the kick and parrying the kick with the opposite palm heal, then grabbing. You can also elbow with the opposite arm directly after the grab, or just use elbow with the arm facing the shin a split second after the parry, so the palm heel absorbs the force not the heal, but it's basically meeting it with the elbow.

  • @odin23581 Cung le did it.

  • @OwayneKhoo93 Cung le is a Sanshou practioner. Sanshou is just another word for Sanda.

  • If you catch the telegraphing, which can be as subtle as pivoting in the front foot, you can counter with a lead sidekick to their kneecap. That will break the balance before they land the kick and you don't need to block it at all. Their torque is on the front knee.

  • you can hold a leg with gloves too... just check some sanda vids

  • where do you get your information.

I mean, you're arguing against people that actually train in sanda by saying that its really just muay thai.

I sure hope you have some proof. because I hope you're not just another dude that watches to much youtube and somehow think he has gain complete knowledge about martial arts from fucking youtube.

sanda and mauy thai have very little in common.

in sanda the stance is extremely different, the strikes are thrown differently. sanda has throws.

  • @shoulung I think they have less in common with traditional Muay Thai. But Western Muay Thai, or other types are extremely similar. In fact I learned this exact takedown IN Muay Thai.

  • @RancorousC maybe your instructor

    was a dummy =)

  • @shoulung Training is different. A martial that balances itself between kicking and punching will always look similar. • i can tell you really dont know much about Sanda, nor Muay Thai.

  • sanda u can suplex someone on there neck something u cant do in muay thai!

  • Fight a Muay Thai guy who can suplex and find out

  • lol mauy thai guys cant suplex in the first place they dont practice that lol stupidest thing i heard!

  • Theres shit loads of them they fight in MMA moron

  • I agree, but don't forget... Muay Thai can also break bones.

  • fight quest is better

  • the quality of video suck

  • The only thing I don't like about this vid is that they grab the leg after they've been hit. If you catch it with your arm against your body you won't get kicked against vital points, but against your arm, and a kick against your arm hurts less most of the time. (side kick not straight)

  • Is effective to counter side kick in sambo

  • they should have said sanda takedowns because i see many.

  • A very good technique, it's been very useful to me. I usually predict my opponents waiting and change the direction of the kick.

  • Wait. Just because an opponent ketches your leg doesn't mean your helpless. I've seen Bruce Lee spun or somtimes flip and kick his oppenent with his other leg. It's the old saying from Martial Arts. "Be prepare to expect the unexpected."

  • Man, if you are here just to start shit, because you probably don't have a life, then don't even bother trying to. Movies or not, there is always a way to conter a manuver.

Never mind, I don't even want to get into a huge debate over this.....

  • Hey everyone, look.... a ten year old stuck in a mans body.

  • @dchyang what are you on about ?

  • @NathanMcL100 Don't remember. It's been a year... oh well..

  • @dchyang lmao its 1 of the highest rated comments and not even the person that wrote knows whats he's on about lol

  • @NathanMcL100 yup... that was a year ago.. don't dwell on the past too long. what ever it was... just let it go. If a person holds on to it for too long... they can go crazy. That's why I learn to let go of the past. What ever it was.... don't care about it anymore.

  • The takedown technique is practical but the person who has his leg grabbed is capable of delivering a hook to his opponent with his free hand when his opponent tries to take him down - knocking him off either at the side of the head or the back of it.

That is one of the flaws of this technique in my opinion.

  • good takedown

  • Dobry filmik (jak reszta Human Weapon)

Good movie (all Human Weapon too)
