  • I love pin straight hair but I don't like chemicals, are too damaging for hair. I prefer straighten my hair with the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it works pretty good, removes static and leaves my hair silky and shiny, and it's less damaging than chemical treatments.

  • Your a very pretty and nice person and i like that you seem to have a great relationship with your mom.

Thank You for making this video it was exactly what i was looking for :)

  • Can someone tell em if this works in african /american hair??

  • can you tell me how the bottle looks like?

  • Ryanwade1234.. Darlin'... sorry but true. Formaldehyde IS the catalyst that straightens the hair, NOT the keratin. You heat "vanillin" to 450 degrees and you create formaldehyde. Vanillin was the .. ohhh NO formaldehyde in THIS product..

To get hair THAT STRAIGHT .. Ryan.. pay attention.. this could be important .. FORMALDEHYDE or a derivative of.. aka, aldeyde. NO, Ryan, it still has F.. in it. You want to bang bucks.. or live a long, healthy life.. YOUR choice.

  • I don't recommend this type of straightening treatment, they use harmful chemicals that can severely damage the hair, that's why I prefer the flat iron which is safer and cause less damage, I use a good one, it's the Karmin G3 Salon Pro that has tourmaline ceramic plates which leaves the hair soft, shiny, healthy and very straight.

  • @askvivi1 This is the best straightening system out there. It is WAY less harmful than some "karmin" flat-iron. I'm a licensed hairdresser. Any good hairdresser will tell you that it is the products that you put in your hair that keeps your hair in good shape NOT your flat-iron. The keratin is 100% safe. Old keratin products (brazilian blow-out) used to have bad chemicals in it but not in years. Stick to what you know. Talk to a professional before you comment on these topics.

  • your videos on the keratin treatment are so helpful, oh my gosh thank you so much <3

  • Coppola HAS formaldehyde in it!!!!

  • @kking93901 I REALIZE THAT NOW!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • @kking93901 where do you get your info? I'm a licensed hairdresser as well as being certified in the keratin system. Brazilian blow-out HAD formaldehyde in its formula years ago but has since changed. Coppola has never had it. Get your facts straight. I would suggest you start on the OSHA website for harmful chemicals and the legal amounts...you will find that your hairspray is more harmful.

  • hey thanx dear for replying me back...since i have already done this treatment can i use other shampoos like panteen or dove or i have to use those specific one??they are very expensive....and can i do a oil massage..wat sud i need to do in order to stop my hair fall..pllzz help and reply me back..

  • @sonamtamanglama You're Welcome! It is highly recommended that you use SULFATE FREE shampoo and conditioner when you have this treatment in your hair because regular shampoos and conditioners strip out the treatment from your hair a lot faster which is a huge waste of money. BUT you don't have to get the kinds the salons sell. Lots of drug store brand shampoos come sulfate free! I use the Loreal Eversleek kind. It will say it on the bottle.

  • if n e one wants to do it or think it will make ur hair straight thats not true after this treatment too u need to flat iron it to make ur hair straight..it is just a waste of money.. beleive me i've done it a month ago no change same hair...plus lots of hair fall...

  • @sonamtamanglama yes, well like i said in the video, in my follow up video, and in the bottom bar, this treatment is not supposed to be a straightening treatment. So if you were hoping for permanently straight hair from this treatment you got it for the wrong reason. your hair will not stay straight. It's actually a smoothing treatment that eliminates frizz. You should try a relaxer if you want straight hair! Sorry it didn't work for ya!

  • im getting mine on saturday! :) wish me luck :))) great vid btw...

  • I live in Northern VA. Where us ur mom's salon. I want to get the done.

  • i want to now is this keratin have formol, because i liket.

  • @mzafiro21 I can't really remember, but if you google it i'm sure you'll find it! I'm sorry!!

  • i meant video sorry

  • ur gorgeous and a very sweet person i love this nideo thankxx

  • @rerere318 Thank you so muchh!!! :)

  • Ur really pretty!

  • @JBSUPPORT136 thank you so much!! :)

  • thanks

  • if you get yor hair wet does it curl back up

  • You don't have to treat it soooo delicately afterwards. You can actually wash it the next day and it's fine. Just put it in a scrunchy (not a clip) it will be fine. DO NOT GO TO SALLY"S FOR PRODUCT EITHER....I'm a hairdresser and do a few of these per week. They have 3 types. One for 4 to 6 months, 4-6 weeks, and one for approx. 1 week. All depending on how often you shampoo your hair

  • @ryanwade1234 yeah my mom was just telling me what to do so I just listened. I probably wouldn't wash it the next day because i wouldn't want to lol, it just looked so good in the beginning. thanks for all of the info!

  • In Ireland this product is recalled from Ministry of Health, because "The product poses a chemical risk because it contains a high level of free Formaldehyde (1.9% and 1.7% whereas the allowed limit is 0.2%). The product does not comply with the Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EEC."

  • @devasthead Thanks for the info! Pretty sure it's still legal here though!

  • wow... your really pretty! hahah every picture! gorgeous! i cant wait to get this treatment great video! thanksss :)

  • @TeamJacob3196 Awww thank you so much!

  • i mixed rce too and ive done this treatment twice!! i also have the shampoo!! also i have a LOT of my curly hair and keratin has helped it easier to handle!! :D :D

  • Your hair looks great after, but to me it looked great before too. I have two questions for you and your mom. 1. What's in it that straightens the hair? 2. Must you blow dry and flat iron the hair? (I don't like straight hair, just want my kinky hair to be more manageable).

  • OMG i have exactly same hair as you and i did the keratin tretment too! :)

  • sweet! thank u! u ve a nice voice n nice skin too!!

  • I have really weird hair. It's perfectly fine on the top, but on the bottom layer, theirs like this frizzy mess and it's driving me insane! Anyways, I'm getting this treatment done for free tomorrow because the lady at my salon has never used it before, and she wants to test it out on me! Thanks for posting the video

  • @gagaforgagax haha yeah my mom did it so i got it for free too, i guess i was kind of a tester too because she had just learned how to do it. I loved it and i want to get it again eventually. You're welcome!

  • I have wavy frizzy hair thats a pain to style. I hate it! Do you think i can use the keratin treatment? Honestly? I know you have to use special shampoos and conditioners to keep the treatment long lasting, which do you recommend? Thank you plz reply!

  • @Darkshinebaby91 One thing i forgot to mention, i dont have coarse hair like i noticed you do in this video, my hair is frizzy but not coarse, is this treatment good for me?

  • @Darkshinebaby91 I've actually never had coarse hair, i dont remember mentioning that but i will go back and check. my hair was flat-ironed and it rained so that's why it was frizzy at the ends. but my hair has always been really ringlet type of curly and very curly. but this treatment is basically for people with frizzy hair. it's a smoothing treatment and basically takes out the frizz. it worked great for me.

  • @Darkshinebaby91 as for shampoos you do have to use Sulfate Free products. I haven't tried many so I can only recommend the ones I have tried which is the Coppola brand, so if you get this treatment done at a salon you can buy the shampoo and conditioner, or for a cheaper alternative there is the Loreal Ever-Sleek sulfate free shampoos. I don't have the treatment in anymore but I currently use those products :)

  • @krys1OH1x3 Ugh lol i have the eversleek shampoo and honestly it dries out my hair soooo bad. i'ma do the keratin in about a month because im planning on cutting and dying my hair next week. i'll most likely buy a shampoo from sallys or something. Thanks for your reply! :)

  • @Darkshinebaby91 you're welcome! I love the ever sleek ones, they keep my hair from breaking which helps it grow extra quick! lol so i've never had a problem with them but Sally has great stuff. I'm sure you'll find something!

  • Im excited! But im just concerned that if it wears off really quickly, I may not enjoy it as much. My hair gets REALLY puffy. If I air dry it, its less puffy though. Also, my hair is pretty curly D: GAH.

  • @human596 it's going to last about 3-5 months depending on the thickness/curliness/frizziness of your hair and whether you're using the correct shampoos and conditioners (sulfate-free) to wash your hair. If you're not using sulfate free its going to strip the keratin out a LOT faster. mine lasted probably 4 months, and I had it a year ago and it's still way easier to flat iron my hair than it even had been since before i got the treatment.

  • thank you :)

  • @paintballchick30 You're Welcome!

  • i know but does it have to be a clarifying shampoo before you dry it to do the treatment? and i meant do you have to wash it after the 20-30 minutes in your hair with shampoo or just rinse it out?

  • @paintballchick30 it doesn't have to be but i'd recommend you begin with the sulfate-free shampoo since you have to use that kind after you get the treatment anyways. and no, my mom does all the steps on my hair in the video. You do not rinse/wash out the product after it sits in your hair. if you go to about 3:30 in the video I say that I have to sit with it for about 30 minutes, and after that she blow dries my hair. It's wet from the product not being washed.

  • @paintballchick30 so shampoo and conditioning that takes place in the video is the only time you wash it until the 3-4 days after you've had the treatment done.

  • what lipstick are you wearing in the beginning of this video?

  • @jennifermariko this was a while ago so i can't remember for sure but I'm PRETTY sure it's Nude Attitude by Revlon :)

  • what flat iron is ur mom using

  • @allyrockmega2 it's actually the Coppola Smoothing Flat Iron that my mom's entire shop got once they went through the training to learn how to do this treatment. I'm not sure where you get them though, you can probably look it up online and get it individually. But I think the plates are titanium, the shiny plates, and if you can't find that exact flat iron, there are others with the same plates as that flat iron :)

    hope that helped!

  • I going to get the Keratin Complex Smoothing treatment for my hair next week. Question: Does this treatment have any chemicals in it? Just curious to know...thanks for the information.

  • @quietgirl2009 Well i've been told it does and it doesn't. But from what my mom was told from her class, it does but it's formaldehyde free, which is one of the really harmful chemicals on your hair. They're all harmful, but not as much. so if you don't want ANY chemicals then i wouldn't get this. But i have pretty fine, curly hair and it didn't damage my hair at all. if anything, having this treatment helped it!

  • why is it so stiff and looked dry?

  • @zymba28 only in the beginning before the treatment. After I got the treatment it wasn't stiff or dry at all. The treatment de-frizzes your hair so that it's smoother :)

    Thanks for commenting!

  • before you put the treatment in your hair, do you shampoo it with clarifying shampoo then put the product in? do you shampoo it and condition at all during the process?

  • @paintballchick30 yes actually the first part of the video is washing and blow drying. She washed it first and then blew it completely dry. so yes, shampooing and conditioning is the first step.

  • Comment removed

  • Aerovex Systems "Chemical Source Capture System" and "The One That Works" Salon Air Purifier, provide the necessary ventiltion required to perform hair smoothing services without the stylist or client inhaling formaldehyde vapors.

  • @3586065 Wow that's amazing! I just get the Coppola one because my mom's shop does them so I get them done for freem but once I save enough money I'd like to get one like this done! Thanks!!

  • How often do you wash your hair every week?

  • @steph5504 Probably every 2 days :)

  • do u know if ur hair will ever go back to its natural state?

  • @sgheriani Yes it does. As you continue to wash it it will slowly rinse away. It'll take about 4 months for your hair to go completely back to it's natural state :)

  • Once you got the Keratin treatment, did you have to continue to flat iron your hair every time you shampooed it? I think it is beautiful. I have very very frizzy hair, and my hair is also fine so I am hoping that this treatment will help me too. I also hear it is expensive...

  • @TennesseeShelties You only have to flat iron it if you want it completely straight. Once you wash it, it's not going to be completely straight anymore, just frizz free and more relaxed. However, I didn't feel the need to flat iron my hair as much because it was drying longer and pretty! It is expensive though. It's around $300 depending on how long/short your hair is and also where you go! I love it though!

  • Keratin treatments for smoothing and straightening hair often utilize either formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde.

The most effective measure of safety to avoid the excessive levels of these vapors can be obtained by using a chemical source capture system with one or more salon room air purifiers.

These systems have been tested by scientific expert Doug Schoon and have been found to be an effective means for lowering exposure to safe levels.

  • Hey, your hair looks fantastic, but i have some questions. What type of hair do you have (curly, thick, ext)? and when it grew back, what happened, was it back to what it was like before you got the product done? if you could awnser these that would be very helpful, because my mom(also a stylest) wants me to do some reasurch before i get it done. Thanks much, Kevie.

    P.s you are realllly pretty!

  • @kevvie81 Hi again, I answered what kind of hair I had in the last post but since I ran outta room I'll write more here. I think the product is just now out of my hair, there is still some left and it's been 5 months, but I can tell that when it dries its basically back to the way it was before. It's just as curly. I'm going to get it again though because I really like it!

  • @krys1OH1x3 Thank you so much this really helped! (=

  • So, is this the same thing as The Kertian Straightening complex, because im thinking about getting that done. what type of hair do you have, because mine is long, thnk and curly. My mom said that i sould ask someone who had theirs done if they like the results. Thanks so much, this video really helped and you are realllllly, pretty! <3 Kevie

  • @kevvie81 Well as you can see my hair is a few inches past shoulder length so it's kinda long with naturally it's REALLY curly. If you go back into my older videos when I wore my hair curly more often you can see. But my hair isn't that thick. it is a little bit but not too much and it also gets kinda frizzy. I believe the Keratin Straightening complex this is the same thing but if it doesn't say coppola then it probably isn't the exact same one, but a lot of them work the same!

  • there is formaldehyde in that treatment! what you put on your hair is it in liquid form, when you blow dry it it turns back into the gas form, next time you get it you should wear a mask and your mom because that is horrible for your mom to breathe, if you dont believe me look it up. and a good shampoo that is sulfate free is loreal everpure

  • P.s YES it thins your hair out A LOT! so if you have thin hair-watch out

  • I've been doing this since 2007. Not new at all. But great vid

  • did it make your hair fall out? Iv'e read alot of reviews of poeple saying that the keratin treatment made their hair fallout in handfulls!

  • LoL @ your mom "Can I turn it like this? Why did you wear a black shirt?" LoL Cute, reminds me of my mom. :)

  • Hi Krys, thanks your video was so helpful. I got my treatment yesterday. I have a question for your mom. My stylist only blow dryed half of my head before applying the treatment. When she started she said she didn't want to dry it and then about halfway through she said my hair was holding too much water so, she dried the rest of it. Will my hair accept the treatment while wet.

  • so does this treament destory ur curl pattern? will ur curls go back to normal when u done with this treatment? i would like to try it but i fear it might mess up my curl pattern

  • @MissCandyDelight2012 No not permanently because there are no chemicals. It's basically just a long lasting treatment that really just calms your curls for a while and it slowly fades away until your curls return to their natural state. Mine haven't returned yet, it usually takes a couple of months but my sisters have. She's going to get another one soon!

  • awe thank yu mama this was so helpful im qettin it dun too =]

  • omg.i haven't realized how adorable you are.

    i LOVE your hair.

    lol

  • plz make a video on how you hair looked after you washed it

  • @ripsbabegirl32 it's already recorded,

  • yup im super familar with this love it

  • so cute; i like when your hair is str8 :)

  • @OfficialLadyGiGiPage Thank you!

  • how long does it stay like unfrizzy for, do you have to get it redone?

  • @xoxoluvKT 3-5 months, depending on your

hair type. So yeah every couple of months

you have to get it re-done.

  • so prettyyy.. :) what is your background?? r u mixed?

  • I'm so getting this done b4 summer... how hot was the flat iron?

  • @LilMsKissyMissy the flat iron my mom used

was 450 degrees and it was a special flat iron

that came with the product. I might get one

eventually but you don't have to have that after

you wash it out. you can continue to use your

flat iron. However that flat iron is REALLY nice!

  • Great Video

  • That looks cool i wanna try.

  • Hey thanx for this video, they have this treatment at my salon and I was wondering what the process was and how long it took. keep us posted on how long it lasts too ok =)

  • @iamkikay Oh i definitely will! I'm going to do

another video too once I wash my hair for the

first time so you can see the difference of my

curls before & now! Then i'll show a video on how

easy it is to flat iron! :)

  • A poodle ? lol Funny when your mum said that and your skin looks really clear. I'm gonna see if any salons near me do this treatment since I have natural curly hair.

  • @supaxkawaii yeah, your hair is super curly, tpp!

but it's definitely worth it girl! It's especially

helpful for us curly haired girls in the summer

because that's when my hair gets SUPER frizzy

i'm so glad i won't have to deal with that! lol.

  • very cute
